ReplyDeleteIt's a xenophobia in all of us. But, you've to realize that someone people giving up their necessities in America to help the children. Who's to say that Americans are paedophiles? Statistically speaking, it's true that the Caucasian afflicted with higher rate of mentally ill. But, there are so many decent people here in America and bountiful organizations to help the needies.
In Cambodia, the Psychological disorders are on the rise. The governments & Khmer men are abusing & exploiting their own women. We are not a saint! And how many organization -- do you know that helping the youngs, the olds,the cripples/disabilities, the poors, and the uneducated Khmers?
We (Khmers) are the Outcast people in our Khmer Society. Any help from any other people around the World is a step for many Khmers.

It's also time for our oversee khmer people to realize that they need to sacrify some of their time to help our people as well. The best way to change the morality and behavior of these current leaders is to go and work with our small people, help educate our poor people to know development of other developed countries so that they know better what to do for their lives in the future. We should not only appreciate these peace corp volunteers but also start contribution by ourselves as cambodian people. The more we can come to work with our small poor people, the more difficult this Hun Sen regime is to confuse them.

We think, they look so cool in those sarongs and kramas. It's very hard to tell, if you are American or Khmers. The reason, we say that, it's because we have our own people that are also have white
skin. Lovely ladies! and gentlemen, you might have to spend a little bit more time under the sun. We promise that you will look like our own dawn Khmer men in no time. Please spend your time well and enjoy your cross cultural training.
We remember well a phrase that says " THE LAST THING A FISH WILL NOTICE IS WATER UNTIL IT'S GONE". THEN, IT'S A CULTURE SHOCK.
