Rights Leader Announces 2008 Political Party

Human rights leader Kem Sokha announced Friday the launche of a new political party to vie for parliamentary seats in the 2008 election.

He started the Human Rights Party, he said, because "the people need me."

The party would run on an anti-corruption platform and would be a potential rival for the Sam Rainsy Party, the only Cambodian opposition party with seats currently in the National Assembly.

The Sam Rainsy Party made modest gains in commune elections earlier this month and has called on other smaller parties to join him in a coalition to oust the ruling Cambodian People's Party in 2008.

Kem Sokha, who was inprisoned in 2006 on defamation charges, told the Cambodia Daily he would consider joining the opposition alliance but would not make an announcement until his party held a congress in July.

I predict today that Kem Sokha will never reach any agreement with Sam Rainsy party in the future even if he agree to talk with SRP because he is Hun Sen's spy. He destroyed FLNPK(Son San) without much energy in the 90s.
He create the new party by Hun Sen's order because Hun Sen feels strong pressure of the opposition party that become dengerous.
Funsinpec is finished, it's one to one fight now. If some how the election cheating could be stopped by UN, donors countries or people's revolt in the near future Hun Sen will face a serious lost of election. So he is bringing out one of his big canon to break opposition. Please notice that Hun Sen still have some more canons. We have to analyse every actor's back ground.

Okay, here's a deal, if Sokha
turned down a PM or co-PM position
from the SRP, then we'll all know
for sure he's a spy, else he just
don't like to work for Sam Rainsy.
    Is that fair to say?

You are a bad dreamer Sokha! Look at Mam Sanando. People like him and didn't vote for him. Why? because People understand his is a good man but his is not competent to lead a governmemt. You will experience Mam Sanando's fate. Remember that Popularity is different from Competence.

We all know Ah Khmer-Youns have
    been complaining about Vietnam
    Human Right violations. I wonder
if Sokha would get their support
since they don't sounds like they
are thrill with what we did for
    them. Moreover, there are about
    1.75 millions Ah Khmer-Youns in
Cambodia. He might get a good
chunck temporarily if he play his
card right. It is just hard to do
anything for Ah Khmer Yuons to
    maintain their votes long term
because they are in a bad spot.

Having said the above, he is
really not out of the game.

Hey Sokha, go and join with the
KKF. It will be a good kickoff for
you, but don't rush, damn it! You
will need a good plan. It is not
    as easy as it looks.
