A high school student in a district near Siem Reap claims two teachers and a high school administrator locked him in a room and beat him after he refused to stand in line in the hot sun.
Tan Sivone, 18, told VOA he was beaten after he refused to stand in line in the sun and tried instead to stand in the shade at a school in Dom Dek district in Siem Reap province.
His teacher kicked him several times, he said, but he refused to stand in line. His teacher called over another teacher, and they locked him in a room and beat him as a kind of "re-education," Tan Sivone said. Also present was a deputy principal.
