According to reports from the various provinces and cities, the unofficial election results show that the CPP is leading in almost all the communes and it is followed immediately by the SRP. Funcinpec and NRP results fall far behind the CPP and the SRP, and they could take the 3rd and 4th place. The results from other political parties are negligible.
The Koh Santepheap newspaper reported that in Phnom Penh city, the unofficial results indicated that among the 76 communes, the CPP took the lead in 73 communes where its candidates took both the commune chief and commune councilor positions, however, in the remaining 3 other communes: Boeng Salang, Russei Keo, and Kilometre 6, the SRP is leading.
In comparison to 2002, the SRP appears to lose in 3 communes in Phnom Penh. Only 50% of the eligible voters actually voted in Phnom Penh, according to the NEC’s list. According to Xinhua, the Chinese news agency, on Sunday night, SRP declared that it took over 20 to 22% of the communes in the entire country, and the CPP admitted that it lost about 20% of the communes it used to control.
The Monday’s edition of the Sralanh Khmer newspaper which is close to the opposition SRP party, indicated that SRP took over approximately 28% of all the communes and sangkats, in comparison to 13% in the previous mandate. The newspaper claim that SRP could win in almost 30% of all the communes, according to the SRP information provided to the newspaper.
For other political parties, according to unofficial results, the NRP seems to be in 3rd position and Funcinpec in 4th. Because of the split in these two parties, the number of votes they received are far behind those of the SRP and the CPP. For other parties, the number of votes they received are negligible.
According to statistics, 102,266 candidates from 12 political parties have competed for the 11,353 seats among the 1,612 communes in Cambodia during this second election mandate.

hun sen is suck. I hate you forever
ReplyDeleteThis is the phenomena, but for the achievement of democratizing in Cambodia is not yet satisfied. Democratization workers in Cambodia must work harder and harder to topple the tricky vote show of the government.
ReplyDeleteThe inability of SRP commune councilors in PP previous mandate leading to the losing of 3 communes.
This identifies the success of CPP government in oppressing SRP's councilors not be able to complete their task fully.
As CPP always said "koun jong min doch koun bongkert"...so this is the result,
But people of PP city lost its huge territory in defending democratization in Cambodia.
All Cambodian people have to defend and push forward the democratization!
I dnt agree with you 12:04. SRP´s members in PP who administrate the communes in PP are competent, and the trouble is that the CPP try to intervent such as: the proposal of commune development under SRP must be delayed for months and even refused. CPP tried to blocked all decision of reform and always intervented by MOI.
ReplyDeleteIts it the fack.
The CPP try so hard to buy the people votes in their show of selling bullshit to the people. With radio and television national wide just to enrich them-self and i wonder what if the SRP had the same media broadcast.
ReplyDeleteThat is the stupiest thing I ever
ReplyDeleteheard off. What are you, blind?
Do you think the stupid KI Media is
pro-CPP or somethin?
I hope all of them they have never been United and will forever never be United...
ReplyDeletebecause most of them, they are not real politicians just Poli-Businessmen....especially FUNCINPEC & NRP
who always make Poli-Party tours they are Poli-Party Tourists touring from one to another to which they may gain benefits(Money, Posotions...-Ladies..etc..)
[It is not like CPP which was formed mostly from the real Moral/mental/ideal...doctrine/ideology.. CPP is clever to look carefully to those guys what he needs e.g Dollare, Sra or Ladies...which can spoil them e.g Ranarith Chakaping and other are soiled by those dollars/Ladies..this is a tactics...].
So that all of those(Poli Party Tourists) can be broken-up easily e.g their heads can be sold/ can be exchanged with any personal interest as said above, moreover, their Leaders also are not so stable in terms of mentality and Material(Property/assets...)and they are still junior in politics however their ages are old.....
Another main reason is the leaders of those ones are not so strong in terms of Moral, and/or knowledges/Experince(except some as NRP who is said to be PhD in Law...) but their subordinates are mostly lowly educated, poorly trained however they formed oversea/outside Cambodia. If they are originated locally/within Cambodia they just the guys who was useless and have any mistakes or are unacceptable by other parties locally ....). I can choose a real simple cause while recently Ranarith was offered by PM Hun Sen around 500 posts/posotions(Funcinpec Quotas) of Chief of Departments/Deputy Chief of Cabinets etc..mostly those posts were sold freely in the Oressey/Olympic markets; any one could buy it with some USD2,500-USD5,000 without any real Scientific-Technical Knowledge relating to those posts....regardless in Cambodia there are well trained personnels from oversea and locally.
In Conclusion, they are real Political Investors,,, which can not be strong and are always very fragile.....
Acha Knoy
