Sihanoukville: A surprise took place in Sihanoukville on 15 may when about 2-square-kilometer of seawater near the O’Vietnam, close to the Sihanoukville port, turn red as if color was added to it. Report indicated that the sea turned red at around 1:30 PM.
The surprised local villagers said that they have never seen such a phenomenon before where the blue water turn red like this. Because of the water color change, people are suspecting that it is a dumping of colorant left over from the fabric factory located about 1 kilometer from the sea. Nevertheless, this is only a suspicion because the factory has been in operation for 5-year already, but nothing ever happened before.
The authority and the experts did not provide any explanation yet, they only indicated that they are looking for the source of the color change. In the afternoon of 15 May, no clue has been found yet.

ReplyDeleteNo Red Tide would be poisonous and toxic. And its caused by a type of Algae that probably isnt even present around that part of Cambodia. I suspect chemicals being dumped into the ocean.
