Cambodians furious at Asean website

DPA
Phnom Penh

The apparent rounding down of Cambodia's total territory on the 10-member Association of Southeast Asian Nations (Asean) website drew fury from opposition politicians Saturday who claim the body is undermining Cambodia's sovereignty.

The Asean website lists Cambodia's total territory as 181,000 square kilometres - not good enough, according to the opposition, who say the total is actually 181,035 square kilometres.

In a telephone interview Saturday, opposition Sam Rainsy Party parliamentarian Keo Remy called on the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications to block the website and consider legal action if the problem was not rectified.

He said if the mistake was unintentional, it was sloppy work; if it was intentional, it could mean Asean was working for neighbouring nations.

"If it was intentional and perpetrated by a Cambodian, this is treason ... it is like not knowing your own parents," he said.

Government spokesman and Information Minister Khieu Kanharith called for calm and reason to prevail, saying he would look into the matter.

Alleged land encroachment by neighbouring nations, and particularly fellow Asean members Thailand and Vietnam, is a political hot potato in Cambodia.

In January 2003, unsubstantiated rumours that a Thai soap actress had claimed the Angkor Wat temple complex, which features on the Cambodian flag, was Thai led to attacks on Thai businesses and the burning of the Thai embassy in Phnom Penh.

Asean consists of Brunei, Burma, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.

OMG!!! Ah fucking Sam Nazi has
gone mad again!!! He's make trouble
ove 35 sq.km, which is roughly
6X6km . This margin of error
    is insignificant and unavoidable
    (35/181,000 = 193 parts per
    million) when spreaded around the
    long long long border's perimeter.
    Shut the fuck up, fool!

Come Dude, this is all politic.
There is no instrument or GPS
on this planet that can measure
    Cambodia territory area with
    zero tolerance. 200ppm (part per
million) error is a miracle. Just
    consider driving on the perimeter
    of cambodia through peaks and
valleys according to any map of
your choosing and with the best
    available GPS system available.
With just a couple meters of error
from the GPS unit, the errors will
build up much bigger than 200ppm
by the time you complete the tour.

Hahahah how about you fuck at 4:26 am design that GPS and correct it to 181,035 square kilometers. Problem solve but some fuck like you can handle a small problem. Fucking moron is still a moron and I guess you and Hun Sen is not politics all all..lol
I'm sure google has given you a lot of lesson but what the fuck are you talking about. A brain like you can't occupy the CPP office. Go back to where you belong motherfucker.

    Well, you can't correct GPS.
Sometime, it could indicated you get
more land, and sometime less. Only,
once in a blue moon and with luck
that it will give you bulleye
answer. Therefore, it is not worth
it to stir up the stability of the
region, unless you want to cause
    trouble for khmer people.

Who the fuck is blaming the GPS for measuring incorrectly?

Uncle SAM had been incorporating his GPS into the smart bomb since the Iraq war and I saw how those smart bombs hit their target like the one you see in the video game!
It is so incredible and so unbelievable to see such GPS can guide the smart bombs to the target!!

I wouldn’t blame the GPS but I will blame the fool for not using it correctly!! ahhahahha

It is despicable to see all kind of derogatory comments completely out of the subject.

The English is eloquent enough to be considered "educated" perhaps all are "pHD".

It is sad that many mothers could not see what their sons are writing here. Had they seen, they may have a second thought for their son's birth.

Totally opposite are enemies of khmers. Vietnamese or Thai will fight their enemies first before taking care their internal differences.

What is it that make these people "khmers?" the way they are?

Is it lack of eduction? But, these people write english as well as any person born in the US but learn english on the street of East LA. They wrote like they know engineering "ppm" "GPS" and such.

Keep on. You'll find one day that khmer nation exist in the history book only.

    Dear 7:39

I strongly agree with what you have commenton those blcok writer.

For me, I love every inch of my homeland. How about losing 35 square kilometer. We are not sure yet whether it is a reall loss. but, at least, Asean should have consulted with the Cambodian Gov`t before publishing the imformation.
181 035 square kilometre is written in the constition and it means to be taken care of.

I`m sure those guys written previously are educaten and even be educated in the US or other developed country in engereering. They know GPS and thing like that but I`m very remorseful that they were bork Khmer.

Actually, Cambodia doesn`t lack of educated peple but what she doesn`t have are the moral educated.

Like those guy if they have morality they will be useful for the country but thing is different they are like the rabish which a blind man intentionally throw out of the bin.

One thing I don`t agree with you: I don`t want any mothers of the above see the way their children write. It will saden her...

WTF, 7:39? do you think the US is
the only place you can learn wild
English? you can learnt it from
many forums on the net also.
    There are many wild Americans
    everywhere, including China,
Taiwan, and Japan too. Plus, with
many hollywood DVD available in Psa
Tmey, you can learn from that also,
by copying it onto your PC and lean
    it scene by scene.

Well said, 8:07, about the needed
morality in Cambodia. It is indeed
an issue to me, and I have been
promoting it for nearly 6 years now
    to strengthen it.

Aside from that, I would like to
tell you about the constitution: it
is up for interpretation. That is
    why we have a constitution
    committee. For instant, what is
the 181,035 sq-km mean? did it say
flat surface or real life surface
as with slope up and down and all?
    More importantly, did it specified
the accuracy of the 181,035 sq-km
and the mean to get this value ...
As you can see, this is a job for
lawyers only, not for us. In
all, I aint wasting no blood
over it, unless it is something
    significant.

6:48, smart bomb is not dead on
either. You can't heat a target
    less than 4 sq-m (2x2m) consistently.
Just look at the damage building,
many time half it is still
standing. If you hit it dead on
    center, usually the whole thing
will crumble, just like the world
    trade center.

Don't oppose each others. You have to keep in mind how to keep the remaining Combodia territory at the same shape 181,035 square kilometers. But to be frankly, I don't believe at all with the CPP. They do not care of the lose of territory.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Anonymous9:10 AM

8:51, no one is losing anything.
In politic, an error of .0001% is
    losing half the country.

Any how, 181,035 is not a dead on
number. It is just a guide. Just
ask yourself where the number came
from? how was it compute, ...?
And you will find the method of
    measurement is very slopy, with
    slideruler and all, not with
    digital calculator and Pentium
PC as we have today. Therefore,
it make no sense to start a war,
unless the loss is very significant
    as .1% (1000ppm) or more.

9:10, this word should kiss someone's ass. Have you heard real Khmers along borders cry of losing of their fields? As I remember, Hun Neng, Hun Sen brother, said there were invasions in his province and he has reported to the interior ministry but there were no reply from it. You people are too smart to break the truth/real situation. For example, in the discussion for all parties with the former King Sihanouk, AH SOK AN sung hours and hours that made Som Rainsy interrupted at the time. People cheered the interruption.

My question to you, you want to live in foreign country as you sell territory to AH YUON, corrupt in the govn't, invade people lands and so on.....? You don't think is enough for you to destroy Khmer? All words from AH CPP members are supporting Yuons.

10:03, what you are talking about
is border dispute that we were
trying resolve a long time ago.

We don't want no more dispute here
or the in UN. Lawyers are very
    expensive, and they can't guarantee
that they will win either. Most likely,
I don't think our lawyers will do
well in the UN court. So there are
more at stake if we don't settle it
    peacefully among ourselves and our
    neighbors, not to mention economic
tensions that will keep us from
getting out of poverty, and more
war could break out to cause more
lifes and to weaken the entire
region forever. No one will want
to invest in a war proned region.
    That much is for sure.

There is much more advantages to
    the recent treaty than disavantages
as stated herein. Plus, there are
more villagers who is very happy
to see that we finally settle
this dispute because they are no
longer in fear to be trapped in
    a foreigner's land ... .

It applies all related issues. Previousely, former King Sihanouk has invited all presentatives from all concerns issues but latter Hun Sen regarded it as illegal organization.

We want to protect our territory. How war come up in this modern life? We can ask UN to review the dispute. Such as Sieng Peng Se stated... you can scare uneducated people but me. It doesn't make sense. This words are usually found in a CPP speaches in remote area.

I am not surprise that some stupid Cambodian people regret the way I wrote my English language. I can choose to write the English language anyway I want and it is my provocative! There is so much fallacy about the way these stupid Cambodian people think about themselves, about the world, and about other people perceive about them!!!

First of all these fucken stupid Cambodian people are so quick to blame themselves for being a victim! ahahaaha! I had noticed as always that they will never blame the aggressors for violating Cambodian sovereignty!

Second the whole worlds don’t give a fuck about any stupid Cambodian people for arguing on behalf of the aggressors and place all the blame on themselves!

Third the whole world don't give a fuck about these stupid Cambodian for not standing up and fight back because the whole world perceive that these stupid Cambodian as such a sore loser!

For me any Cambodian territory lost to the Thaicong or the Vietcong can be taken back as always! Just like King Sihanuok had done in the past by using the world court! I can't believe that some stupid Cambodian people complaining about how much it cost to go to court! I never give a fuck about how much it cost as long as it protect Cambodian sovereignty and people!

One of these day, when these fucken stupid Cambodian people got the chance to live in the foreign land like the Jewish people and now they realized how it important it to have a homeland! Please remember that your host country can always change their mind and massacre all of you stupid ass and make you go back to your homeland anytime! ahahhahahhaha

So next time when a foreigner asks you where you came from and please don't look up in the tree and tell them! All of you stupid Cambodian monkey and now it is time to compromise with your enemies and make Cambodia disappear from the face of the Earth! All of you stupid Cambodian monkey can go to hell!

if you know what I mean.

Also, is there any other areas of
