Hun Xen warns opposition from calling his autocratic regime a "dictatorship"

PM warns opposition of citing 'autocracy'

PRIME Minister Hun Sen said Wednesday that any opposition member who calls Cambodia an "autocracy" will be met with a lawsuit by the Cambodian People's Party.

Speaking at a graduation ceremony at the National Institute of Education in Phnom Penh, the prime minister told opposition members to exercise "caution" when describing the Kingdom.

"Be cautious about using [the] improper language of dictatorship, for sometimes there will be legal action," Hun Sen said.

"This regime rules according to the constitutional monarchy and the principle of liberal democracy and pluralism," he said.

Hun Sen did not name particular opposition members, but referenced opposition in the Sam Rainsy Party.

Yim Sovann, a lawmaker and spokesperson for the SRP, said that the prime minister's comments amounted to another threat against members of the SRP and its parliamentarians.

He said that housing evictions by armed forces of the ruling party and the suppression of peaceful demonstrations "has never happened in a democratic country".

"I am not accusing the prime minister, but he may very well realise himself: What is the country's rule? Is it democracy or autocracy?" Yim Sovann said.

"Look at Thailand, whose citizens have enough rights to express their opinion by holding peaceful demonstrations. Such a culture is not allowed in Cambodia."

What an utterly wrong view you made in relation to the spirit of national constitution.
National constitution requires PM in assembly session.Open national confererce yearly also requred to open critics.Only selective clauses are applied, and we need full implementation of our constitution.

Saying that PM has majority in parliament made capable of doing anything is disgusting and pre-mature mentality.

It is a true autocratic regime ruled by an autocratic person named Hun Sen. Rainsy is so right.

Hun Sen does not understand what is "an autocracy".

CPP belongs to a one man named Hun Sen, and Hun Sen is an autocrat.

An autocracy: means a government in which one person has unlimited authority over others; and

An autocrat: means a person who behaves in an authoritarian manner, just like Hun Sen.

He owned Cambodia, owned court and owned everything.

    Friends,

Don't attack our friend New Phally. He or she speaks the truth.
    Phally said:
"... as Prime Minister, he can do whatever he want under his jurisdiction.", though Phally didn't say "Hun Sen is an autocrat under his autocracy", Phally is smart enough to use the words "as Prime Minister, he can do whatever he want under his jurisdiction."

Attacking the messenger like New Phally will not make the autocrat Hun Sen changes, he is the PM for life. He owned Cambodia and owned every Khmer' soul.

HS is cunning in tactics to turn away from his dictatorial method. He just shut up the mouth of Freedom of Expression with the monarch's hand. His argument is less convincing and sells the least.

That's good for Rainsy to nail HS on the head, although HS has always denied. Open the dictionary and show Hun Sen's court what Autocrat and Autocracy mean and point to HS that's how his regime operating. If HS's court rejects then file a law suit against the US and UK who published the dictionary which is opposite HS's dictionary. HS's dictionary defined his absolute power as he is a Messiah not an autocrat or autocracy regime.
