Phnom Penh - Police in the Cambodian capital Phnom Penh scrambled to gather up hundreds of photocopied leaflets critical of Prime Minister Hun Sen that were scattered around the capital, local media reported Thursday. The leaflets, which were left at a number of locations in the capital around 2 am on Wednesday, accuse the prime minister of being a dictator, of being politically subservient to Vietnam, and of "selling the nation."

Government spokesman Phay Siphan told the Phnom Penh Post newspaper that Cambodians would not be influenced by the leaflets.

"This has happened many times before, but the result is always the same at the elections [with victory for Hun Sen]," said Phay Siphan.

Police are investigating the origin of the leaflets.

Khmer must see the real situation in Cambodia. Why there were many Vietnamese immigrants; civil and army working in ministry of Cambodia. They set up the association of 19 province. Therefore, the death of Cambodian nation is hidden policy of Vietnam and puppet government Hun Sen. Our Khmer fate will be like Champa or Kampuchea Krom.

To KLK, you are right about heavy VN immigration in Khmer land today. Hanoi has been trying to annex Khmer by means of wars, administration e.g Om Yentieng; in various posts (police, soldiers..) of RGC and inflows of its own citizens for centuries. But today leadership does not care about it and allow Viets to live and travel everywhere in Khmer motherland. Consequently, soon VN immigration is too heavy and late to deal with. We Khmer need to unite this threat as soon as possible. KhOpen,

Once again, this is yet another Hun Sen's political scheme in an effort to apprehend the opposition leaders' supporters. The scheme was cleverly devised and orchestrated for one purpose: apprehension of opposition leaders' supporters. In fact, in the past--the scheme had served the ruling party well.

Touch Naroth said the leaflets could potentially pose a threat to the government. and he's seeking the perpetrators for arrest, he said. “We can charge the throwers for disinformation.”

"anti-government leaflets saying the administration of Prime Minister Hun Sen of destroying the nation is true." Yuon about to own the entire country since I last visit 2008.

Thank for your good words; no one can love khmer besides ourselves and no one can help khmer besides Khmer. We must care about the national interest first and then the individual ones will be good too. If all khmer care about the national interest; our nation will be persperous not like the present selfish leaders Hun Sen who are destroying the nation. We, khmer, have our own right to protect our nation.

There is no doubt that those leaflets either from SRP or its supporters. They don't want to see Cambodia has peace and stability and prosperity. They are good in creating the problems and invented the stories.

Police should go to check all PCs in SRP headquarter in Phnom Penh, then we will see.

there is no doubt those leaflets were from SRP or its supporters ? If you are so sure about it why don't you come out and say who did it ? It could be you , the one who have been doing and trying to blames SRP supporters.
Hun Sen and Say Chhum have done it once before the general election because they wanted to take SRP members and supporters to jail but it didn't work because the outside investigation found out that the plan was coming from the government just to intimidate the SRP .

To the Cambodian People Party, for those who spread the leaflet tries to weaken the influence of Samdech Daychu Hen Sen. In according to my opinion if arrested that person he/she must be executed. They want to capture power from the current, legal government because they didn’t win the elections. They’ve been trying to oppose Sadech Deychu Hen Sen through a variety of turmoil and by making people confused. The leaflets just potentially posed as a threat to the government only and people don’t care must about this issue. If you are a thrower, braver and brilliant how dare, you should come out and solve your problem through court channels, and not to make turmoil through leaflet-throwing. Be like a MAN, a Stronger Man!

    ACID ATTACK ON TAT MARINA
Cambodian People's Party Hun Sen Khmer Rouge Regime had committed acid attack.
"On December 5, 1999, Tat Marina, age 16, was severely disfigured in an acid attack in Phnom Penh. The attack was allegedly committed by Khun Sophal, the wife of a senior government official, Svay Sitha, because she was angry her husband had a sexual relationship with Tat Marina. Neither Khun Sophal nor those suspected of being her accomplices in the attack were brought to justice. Intense media publicity compelled the Phnom Penh Municipal Court to issue an arrest warrant for Khun Sophal for attempted murder, but the police claimed that they could not locate her, although journalists reported that she was living at home as usual."

TORTURE AND MURDER ON PRAK SITHA WHILE IN CUSTODY BY MISNISTRY OF INTERIOR OFFICIAL
Cambodian People's Party Hun Sen Khmer Rouge Regime had committed torture and murder.
"On the night of January 16, 2003, a street youth named Prak Sitha was beaten to death at the Ministry of Interior (MOI) headquarters after he was arrested and detained by off-duty MOI officers on suspicion of theft. His body - bearing numerous injuries to the head, torso, arms, and legs - was dumped at a Phnom Penh pagoda the following morning by ministry officers, in violation of police regulations regarding deaths in custody. No criminal charges were filed in connection with this death. In December 2004, the case was cited by the UN secretary-general's special representative for human rights in Cambodia - who stated that Prak Sitha died at the ministry "following beatings by a known police officer" - as an example of a "consistent and continuing pattern of impunity" in Cambodia."

Mean Sokchea, in a drunken stupor, fired his gun and apparently mistakenly hit Put Samphors in the stomach. She was taken to a hospital but later died of her wounds. Mean Sokchea was detained by the police overnight but was then released, allegedly after intervention by Hing Bun Heang. Put Samphor's family received US$2,700 from Mean Sokchea, and the police told them that their daughter was shot while authorities were chasing robbers."
