Two opposition SRP activists, one of whom is the SRP party leader for Sambuor commune and the other the party leader in Romaing Thkoal commune, Svay Teab district, Svay Rieng province, were arrested by the police and they were charged with robbery.
Meas Kheng, the SRP Svay Rieng province deputy-chairman, told RFA on 20 September that, in the morning of 17 September, 20 cops surrounded the house of Pen Samorn, the SRP party president for Sambuor commune, and on the same day, the cops also surrounded the house of Prak Vanna, the SRP party president for Romaing Thkoal commune.
Meas Kheng added that the arrests of the two SRP activists are irregular: “The reason they arrest them was because during the evening before, there was a robbery at the end of the village. In the morning, at 6AM, they surrounded the pair’s houses. This means that the arrests were conducted in haste, the [robbery] case must be investigated, why did the cops take these illegal actions to make the arrests? The victims never have any problems besides being SRP activists.”
Prach Rim, the Svay Rieng provincial police commissioner, said that Pen Samorn’s arrest was made because there was proof to his involvement in this armed robbery. He said that the accused already confessed, and as for Prak Vanna, the cops brought him in for questioning only.
Prach Rim said: “We arrest them the day before yesterday. We confiscated an AK-47 rifle that was used in the Sambuor robbery. We arrested him and he confessed already, he robbed gold, we arrest only one, [the other] was released already. The owner of the gun, after research, he confessed that he was involved. We already arrested the people directly involved.”
In the evening of 16 September, an armed robbery took place in Sambuor commune. The next morning, the cops surrounded Pen Samorn’s house and arrested him without showing any arrest warrant.
Prak Sophy, Pen Samorn’s wife, said that she does not know the reason behind her husband’s arrest. She added that her husband is not to be blamed. She added that the alleged rifle found in the pond behind her house is merely a setup to charge her husband.
Prak Sophy said: “On the 16, we slept together until morning. Then, in the morning, the cops came over. He [Pen Samorn, her husband] never did anything, he stayed at home. The cops searched our house. I never owned [a gun], but when they searched our house, they found one.”
Human rights officials and Yim Sovann, SRP spokesman, said that they cannot comment on the case yet because they have not investigated this case thoroughly yet.

ReplyDeleteNow I got an idea. Hmm! I shall rob, murder, and rape but I'll join the SRP and Whala! I'm innocent. That is why the CPP calls SRP the criminal party. All the criminals join so when they get arrested for committing crimes, the SRP party would jump to their defense no matter what.

ACID ATTACK ON TAT MARINA
Cambodian People's Party Hun Sen Khmer Rouge Regime had committed acid attack.
"On December 5, 1999, Tat Marina, age 16, was severely disfigured in an acid attack in Phnom Penh. The attack was allegedly committed by Khun Sophal, the wife of a senior government official, Svay Sitha, because she was angry her husband had a sexual relationship with Tat Marina. Neither Khun Sophal nor those suspected of being her accomplices in the attack were brought to justice. Intense media publicity compelled the Phnom Penh Municipal Court to issue an arrest warrant for Khun Sophal for attempted murder, but the police claimed that they could not locate her, although journalists reported that she was living at home as usual."

TORTURE AND MURDER ON PRAK SITHA WHILE IN CUSTODY BY MISNISTRY OF INTERIOR OFFICIAL
Cambodian People's Party Hun Sen Khmer Rouge Regime had committed torture and murder.
"On the night of January 16, 2003, a street youth named Prak Sitha was beaten to death at the Ministry of Interior (MOI) headquarters after he was arrested and detained by off-duty MOI officers on suspicion of theft. His body - bearing numerous injuries to the head, torso, arms, and legs - was dumped at a Phnom Penh pagoda the following morning by ministry officers, in violation of police regulations regarding deaths in custody. No criminal charges were filed in connection with this death. In December 2004, the case was cited by the UN secretary-general's special representative for human rights in Cambodia - who stated that Prak Sitha died at the ministry "following beatings by a known police officer" - as an example of a "consistent and continuing pattern of impunity" in Cambodia."

"On September 4, 2008, Mean Sokchea, a RCAF major working in Brigade 70, shot dead 21-year-old waitress Put Samphors at a restaurant in Kandal province. Mean Sokchea, in a drunken stupor, fired his gun and apparently mistakenly hit Put Samphors in the stomach. She was taken to a hospital but later died of her wounds. Mean Sokchea was detained by the police overnight but was then released, allegedly after intervention by Hing Bun Heang. Put Samphor's family received US$2,700 from Mean Sokchea, and the police told them that their daughter was shot while authorities were chasing robbers."

Under torture, who would deny the accusation? To be fair, questioning of suspects will have to be done when the lawyer is present, however, it did not appear that way. I believe that there are bad and good people in each party and how come we never see police arrest the CPP affiliated party members? Facts show that only opposition party members are victimized,humiliated, murdered while the CPP members are untouchable. Look, the kangaroo court of Hun Sen is going to convict these guys without the benefit of the doubt. As in the case of Tat Marina and Pisith Polika which were known to be victimized by Hun Sen and Svay Sitha's wifes. None of whom were arrested because they are CPP affiliated members.

Hun Sen hand picked his men to run the National Election Committee known as NEC to manipulate the ballots. the seats of each party were allocated by Hun Sen in advance prior to the election. That's why Hun Sen declared recently that he will run for election until 2013 since he know for sure that, with his strategy, he will win all the times until he decides to stop running. And since NEC is at his side, all complaints of fraud leveled against the CPP had been thrown away by the NEC. It's ashamed for Khmers to have a dishonest leader like Hun Sen.
This is another dirty trick of the CPP . This case is similar to the case of Sok Sam Eun and Born Samnang . How did they know that the Man has been hidded the gun in the pond ? If it's his gun , why did he put it in the pond ? There is a better place to hide it becuse he is likely to use it again . Many people have been shot and killed in public but the government never found the perpetraters .

Most criminals in Cambodia hold SRP membership's card. They rob and steal property from innocent Khmer, when the Police arrested them, SRP comes to protect them by using political motivation as their pretext. So, SRP is fully of criminals and it's really good in changing criminals into innocent people.
