Rong Chhun, President of the Cambodia Independent Teachers’ Association (CITA), declared earlier that his association will hold a meeting that includes 150 teachers to celebrate the World Teachers’ Day on Monday 05 October 2009 in front of the old National Assembly building. However, this morning, Rong Chhun cannot hold the event because the cops closed all the streets starting from in front of the royal palace all the way to the public park located in front of Wat Botum Pagoda. Police forces are also seen guarding this area. On Sunday, Rong Chhun said that the Phnom Penh city hall did not authorize CITA to celebrate the World Teachers’ Day that would include a parade leading to the old National Assembly building and the ministry of Education, Youth and Sports because that celebration would be done to attract the attention on the teachers’ role from the part of the government and the public. Furthermore, CITA also planned to demand that the government increases the salary for teachers to 1 million riels ($250) per month during that day.
Uneducated leader like ah Hun Xen will never understand the true value of education.

ReplyDeleteaching jobs,will make teaching more satisfied and quality teaching can be provided and possibly reduces some corruption in the system as well.
Otherwise young cambodians would line up for jobs where power can be manipulated for becoming rich, unfortunately good earning position comes with the high price and substantial weekly ransome as much as $10,000 a week to the boss.
For any neglect, position will taken and given to other who can offer more.
This is typical cambodia where old crooks continue teaching young ones to corrupt and with praise of controlling Viet experts.

It is a well known fact that many teachers in Cambodia openly get involved in politics, instead of fullfilling their academic teaching duty. If these teachers want to do politics, why don't they quit their job, and become full time politician!
ReplyDeleteLook at what the teachers did during the 60's and the 70's. They contributed to the raise of the KR. Most of them (Sun Sen, Duch, ...etc) were all teachers.
How can anyone stopped the Siamese government proganda, where the General Public in Siam accepted that Khmers are decendent of Siamese?
ReplyDeleteThe Siamese are twisting every history fact to make Khmer Nation as inferior as Possible. For instance, Siamese Language is DERIVATIVE of KHMER written Language, but the Siamese concocted "khom" as derivative of their Language.
Today, Khmer NOT only risking of losing Territorial boundary to Siam, but WE KHMER RISKING LOSING OURS ANCESTRAL PRIDE WHAT MAKE KHMER KINGDOM FAME FOR THE LAST 2 MELLENIUM FACING OUT BECAUSE THE SIAMESE PROGANDA!
AS KHMER SCHOLARS ARE DYING OUT, THE KNOWLEDGES ARE FADING WITH A PERSON. WE KHMER NEEDS HISTORICAL DOCUMENTS REPOSITORIES ABROAD TO PRESERVE OUR ANCESTORS.
Our current government is not in the interest in Preserving Khmer Culture or Serving Khmer Nation. It's a sad state in Cambodia.

ReplyDelete*making a big concession by giving part of our land and isles to Yuons for invading Cambodia and installing them in power.
*allowing Yuons to flow endlessly into Cambodia, so they can vote for them.
*giving Yuon more rights than Khmer citizens have, so Yuons can insult and control Khmers.
*robbing Khmer people and depriving them of their land.
*violating human rights and threatening or killing those who are not supporting them.
*provoking all kind of violence.
*degrading moral value of Khmer religion and tradition.
*stealing 2/3 of national revenue in order to make themselves rich and happy while the coutry's economy got flattened and Khmer people are poorer and suffering. This government is corrupted from head to toes.
*slowly turning this country of ours into a military-ruled one, so in the near future only them can be the sole owners of it.
I hope those folks would agree with me, because we can share something in common.
Hun Sen and his cronies always declare that Cambodia is a democratic country. If that's so why people don't even have freedom of assembly.
