Maps presented here highlight the extent to which the government is signing off concessions for development which is monopolizing land, forest and other natural resources to private companiesboth Cambodian and international. Land conflict is a major issue which raises questions not only about poverty reduction and human rights but sustainable development in general.
The development trends presented on these maps signifies a new approach to viewing the information on land allocation for concessions and other development initiatives. It is hoped that by taking a holistic approach to viewing development trends across sectors national and international organizations, the RGC and their relevant departments along with development Donor groups can begin to analyse and potentially rethink development from a new paradigm perspective. Hopefully influencing more environmentally sustainable development models which are socially equitable and just.

ReplyDeleteThe LOVE of MONEY is the root of this EVIL happening. All about the rich getting richer. People who invest in these International Organization does or doesn't realize that they are involved in robbing the poor wherever their money is being used to get a good return in their portfolios.
ReplyDeleteThe worst part is that all the resources that come out from the land will be going over seas. Very little stays in the community and country. Once the natural resources are depleted, what is there left for the people?
I'm sorry that the current leaderships have sold themselves to do evil in the sight of God and man. Compounded by those foreign investors with iron teeth to tear the poor to shred.
Oh that God would smite those crooked and perverse people with his anger. How long O Lord will you hold your judgment from these people who eat my people up like they eat bread?
All of us who live overseas need to get involved with our motherland by not appearing as enemies of the state. We can help one or two children from the rural and poor areas with their education. Good education will set them and our country free in the long run. If we can have a million well educated men and women, the state will no longer be able to control the population that easily. That's the only thing we can all do immediately without getting violent reactions from the people in power. Otherwise, we will continue to feel frustated and helpless with the future of our motherland. If all of us who live overseas can help one or two kids, imagine how many kids we all can help together and how much change we can bring to our country in the not-so-long future. Let's begin our journey together by taking our first step.

Do what Australia is doing right now, and all khmer will be saved!. Try to create a common law to protect all, like "all for one and one for all". Use the bible as the principle and guideline to practice as most gov't around the world have used it and it is very effective, e.g. before gov't begin with their meeting they pray by using the bible points, e.g. "May God guide us to serve the our nation with justice and right for all and as it is your purpose as it will be done on earth as it is in heaven" so please do the right thing for the righteous will live forever and the wicked will be terminated! Bible (proverbs). And finally try to build as many church as possible, money that hve been collected from the church goes toward the welfare system that can support the poor! or give children free education, for education is the way to life as the bible said.
