The road to Thailand from Vietnam is getting shorter and shorter

Vietnam to build coastal road ink to Cambodia, Thailand

Monday, February 22, 2010
Thanh Nien News (Hanoi)

Construction will begin next month on a 220-km long coastal road in the Mekong Delta as part of an international highway linking the country with Cambodia and Thailand, according to the project’s management board.

Running through the provinces of Kien Giang and Ca Mau, the US$440 million road will be built in cooperation with the governments of South Korea and Australia, as well as the Asian Development Bank.

Once it is completed, the road will be part of a nearly 1,000 kilometer link known as the Thailand-Cambodia-Vietnam Southern Coastal Road Corridor, starting at Bangkok and ending at Ca Mau Province’s Nam Can District.

The road would create more opportunities for Kien Giang and Ca Mau to develop their economies and promote tourism, according to Duong Tien Dung, vice chairman of the Ca Mau’s People’s Committee.

ADB experts, meanwhile, said that as the road mainly ran through the three countries’ poor provinces, it would provide greater access to basic social services for local people and encourage development of local economies.

Yes, Pray the Lord our God for bringing our Asian nation to come together as one, Just like the European nation! Let it will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Let every nation respect each others' boundaries and share common goal common interest and common life in the name of peace and prosperity for all human being. Thai, Viet, khmer, loas, chiness and the whole indo-chiness are one blood and one body but speak different languages, in fact we all came from one family, so help each other out in term of security for all. Amen, Wisdom

The road will be just for the diplomats . So far no normal person are able to cross the border to Vietnam by motorbike ore by a private car. For what this street?
    Unthinkable for a European.
Just days after the WWII ended private cars crossing the boarders of the western Europe countries but not in the eastern part of Europe occupied by communist.

This stupid road is going to cut through all of Cambodia, connecting the two invaders. Cambodia will be at a disadvantage, because it will only allow more access to our enemies, so they continue to rob us blind! How many more evictions will result out of this shortsighted plan? It only allows us access all the way to Bangkok, Thailand and to Ca Mau Povince's Nam Can District.

good, any modern infrastructure development or improvement in my cambodia is a welcoming news and cambodia could use this to help develop and ease travel all over the country. hey, welcome to the global network of infrastructure. remember isolation and ignorant are the real enemies of cambodia, really! wake up already and see the world, ok! in cambodia when we have better roads and ease of travel, we will be business and standard of living rising as well. i'm sure the economists can tell you more about the important of having good, reliable, modern infrastructure in place in cambodia once and for all, really! god bless cambodia.

The road to Thailand from VN is getting shorter. YES, that's absolutely right. Soon VN will be Thailand's next door neighbor. Thai people will soon see VN flag flying at Thailand's Aranyaprathet border gate and others gates.

Just believe in God and do the right thing, eventually everything else will be alright. Everything we do has already plan from above, so keep going because at the end of the day the righteous will live forever and the wicked will be no more."the Lord knows whether we are good or bad and he watches us in every move" Wisdom
