A few weeks back, against Khmer people's will, the Phnom Penh Post's editor opted to say that Khmer's word "YUON" (Viet) is pejorative. Along the same line, and according to some sources, the most recently-promoted to five-star general Samdech HUN SEN no longer wishes to be called "Khmer Rouge" because back then, Samdech Sihanouk seemed to love to color-code anybody and everybody of his opposition. The French word "Rouge" and French itself appear to be less and less popular and may disappear altogether from this planet earth. One KI-Media's reader agrees with HUN SEN and suggests that we all westernize/americanize Samdech Hun Sen - Khmer Rouge as Samdech HUN SEN - Khmer Commie.

ReplyDeleteIn Aust, we tent to work together as a team and there is no time to give criticism to one another. Everyday, people get up at 4am,5am, 6am depending on their shift to go to work which made up of 8-12 hours a day. Everyone respects their leaders because of the majority votes that favoured them. So, Khmer people need to learn to give compliment to our own people, now if khmer don't love khmer, no one in the world will. I would also encourage our people to stay back in our homeland because no where in the world is quiet like home. I have been living abroad for the last 30 years and not a day gone by without thinking of our beloved homeland. I urge the khmer gov't to promote unity and look out for one another regardless rich or poor and please try to put as many new infrastures as possible, "when the is a will, there is a way". Aust
