Khmer Kampuchea Krom Associations will not have the opportunity to let their voice be heard on FM 96, the national radio station declared that there is no free airtime for Khmer Kampuchea Krom broadcasting program, even though Khieu Kanharith, the minister of Information gave his authorization last 08 February. Sun Sopha, the secretary of the Khmer Kampuchea Krom women organization, said that a delegation of Khmer Kampuchea Krom associations met to discuss with officials of the FM96 radio station recently, however, these officials said that there is no airtime free for the Khmer Kampuchea broadcast because all the station hours are under lease contract between 6 months to 1 year. Thach Setha, President of the Khmer Kampuchea Krom Association, expressed his regret, saying that: “We want to broadcast our voice on the national radio station, but there is no free time slot for us, however when it comes to broadcast in Chinese, Vietnamese, Cham, there are free time slots for them.” Nevertheless, Thach Setha’s association will keep its contact to seek for radio broadcast time in the future because Khmer Krom people do not have the opportunity to watch the national TV station, nor the Bayon TV station [owned by Hun Mana, Hun Xen’s daughter], that is why the Khmer Kampuchea Krom program was set up for broadcasting on the national radio so that Khmer Krom people can listen to it.

ReplyDeleteIt seems some Khmers never learned from their past. We continue to have Khmer traitors selling the country and Khmer interests to the enemy...King Chey Chetta II lost Kampuchea Krom to Yuon and now the 3 jungle bunnies will lose Kampuchea Kandal again to the allitor of the east...

Huynh Sen should ask himself if he is Yuon or Khmer...it's really not too late yet to change...don't get recorded in Khmer history book as a Khmer traitor working for Yuon...

We also have had Chey Chetta II and now Heng Samrin, Chea Sim, and Huynh Sen working for Yuon.
When will Khmer people start working for Khmer???
Important for us Khmer to include the voice of Khmer Krom and Khmer Surin into our National radio, by broadcasting the Khmer Culture (Religion-Believes, Musics-Songs and daily life) from Surin and Khmer Krom to avoid the political conflicts with those foreigner governments.
