According to a high-ranking SRP official, opposition leader Sam Rainsy plans to return to Cambodia in the near future even though he could face arrest. Kim Suor Phirith, the standing SRP spokesman, said that he could not provide the schedule of Sam Rainsy’s return, but he knows that Sam Rainsy could return back home without any fear. Kim Suor Phirith told the Phnom Penh Post on Tuesday that: “Mr. Sam Rainsy must return back to Cambodia because he is a Cambodian citizen, he cannot abandon Cambodia. Even if it means that he could face arrest, he must return back. His stance remains unchanged.” Kim Suor Phirith added: “Mr. Sam Rainsy must face the imprisonment in order to protect our nation from the loss of our territory. There is nothing for him to fear because he did not give out land to any foreign country.” Phay Siphan, the mouthpiece of the Council of Ministers, said: “Whether Mr. Sam Rainsy returns back or not, it’s up to him. Mr. Sam Rainsy must be punished. This is the court decision.”

Actually, with this Google Translate Toolbar, you can translate any blogs into available languages, either Thai or Vietnamese. Even the KAMPUCHEA THMEY webpage can also be automatically translated into Thai or chinese or ... so on and so forth.
So be careful with some bad guys who using this add-on Google Translate Toolbar.

Those who has called Lok Sam Rainsy chicken running away from his supporters and Cambodia are normally CPP supporters or have no idea about Hun Sen's determination to eliminate Sam Rainsy. All his supporters and members don't want to see him dead, believe me. And they would still blame you if you are dead. To them you are always at fault, no matter what. Better late than sorry. But don't apologise to Hun Sen. There are other good leaders inside the SRP, such as Mu Sochua, Yim Sovan, Son Chhay, Tioulong Saumura, Kong Korm.

I feel sorry that you feel you have to hide from your own country, I think Mr. Sam Rainsy is not like that, he got all he could get during his time abroad. He got the documents he needed, and made the point to Khmer people already who side he is on.
Now there is nothing left for him to do in a foreign country but rot his credibility.
To Mr. Phay Siphan, why whould you say Mr. Sam Rainsy must be punished? How can you say that is the court decision when you came out and say it for the court? Isn't that your decision and the decision of the government since you are the mouthpiece?
Get a grip people, if you're too scare to participate in Cambodian politic then stay and be American or French and do not make comments about Khmer politics.
Otherwise, let Mr. Sam Rainsy and those brave Khmer travel between world as they will as long as they get to help Khmer nation.

ReplyDeleteI agree with you that Mr. Sam Rainsy should return back to Cambodia. Hun Sen government cannot kill him because he is one of Hun Sen's playing cards. If Mr. Sam has to go to jail, there will be a big show to the world. Hun Sen government will not look too good to the international eyes, although it tries hard to twist the story. The world and the donnor countries knew that the justice system in Cambodia is not independent. On the other hand, Mr. Sam can appeal to the higher court to request an independent investigation to prove whose map is correct. The government must show its map to prove that all materials presented by Mr. Sam are incorrect. Mr. Sam should be allowed to bring his technical supporters to verify the government's map as well. This is a higher profile case, there will be all embassadors and NGOs are mornitoring this case. All materials should be carefully investigated and presented. The government cannot just make up things and put Mr. Sam to jail.
I indeniably have mine eyes drowning with the delightful tears, SamRainsy will be bravely come back home and challenge the jungle law as Ms. Sochua!

However, we need to use a diplomatic dialogue to negotiate with our neighbours about our boundaries, e.g. every country has its own boundary and that there is no need to argue about that.
