As the new $1.6 million counter-terrorism building is being inaugurated in Phnom Penh by Hun Xen, Yim Sovann, SRP spokesman, said that: “It seems that there is no need yet for the government to improve counter-terrorism. Corruption is the main problem facing us.”

Yim Sovann declared: “We must prepare to fight terrorism. But now, terrorism is not a problem in Cambodia, but the terrorists could use Cambodia to launder dirty money if corruption still persists.”

The counter-terrorism unit is led by Hun Manet, Hun Xen’s son. This unit will be a mixture of members from other units, including from Brigade 70, Hun Xen’s bodyguard units. Members of Brigade 70 will form the majority of the counter-terrorism unit.

Cambodia is not noted for serious terrorism activities. There are some minor events that are classified [by the government] as terrorism, but these events are suspected to be set up by politicians to place blames on their opponents.

You are right on my friend. Need system overhaul, if the government is really serious. Donors must demand certain conditions to make it happen. It is the time now, the government is way short of cash to pay bills.

Well, the HS regime really believe that they don't need to get clean. Only their moneyssssss...need to get clean. Some Khmers in LB try to start up their lundry business specifically to clean money from HS clant. As you can see when the Hen Heng (?) Khmer Ambassador Came to visit LB...and those small business - lundry business people kiss Hen Heng's asssssss and hope that some HS regime would channel their dirty money to clean in LB...LOL...yes, I agreed with you - terroism is less danger to Khmer people than dirty money they want to clean...Khmer people...wake up...you can have your voice to be heard...don't sell dinity and your rights to the noodle regime...Long live Khmer people...

10:17am - that is part of SRP members in parliament that need to push all the necessary laws to creat the foundation of for democratic institution...show them through election...but as I was one of election observer during the 2008 election...it is very difficult to see how the opposition such as SRP to win more sits in Parliament...while the country side people still influence their vote with noodle and Sarong, while they always compare their life as better than the KR regime...without education spreading to the majority mass in the country side(build the new generation with deomocratic value)...Khmer future will be much darker than the KR regime (killing without bullets)...

yes, srp can do good for cambodia by using their influence in parliament and gov't to push and demand for real reforms, always, and not just mouthing off at their opponents. srp should make demand, and why not educate those who seem ignorant or blind instead of being so evil and selfish or egotistic. do something proactively for cambodia. imagine if we don't care who gets the credit, we can get a lot done for the sake of our beloved, beautiful country cambodia. i think even srp and members should reform their way as way, and not be blinded too by their own agenda. instead change with the wind as they say it and when in rome do what the roman do; that's smart clever, new thinking, reformed minded way of professionalism etc... wake up already please! god bless all.

    OK 1:14pm - this is from 11:21am,

Yes,I agreed with your point. SRP should have a new way of thinking. But if I remember clearly, during my observation of 2008 national election, I got a chance to talk to some off SRP leaders. My question was why not SRP joint with Kem Sokha party and other opposition party, first don't want to share power, second, those little opposition party is not worth to join, in addition, they said - why not Kem Sokha come to ask SRP to join rather than the other way around. Their attitude seems to show that their party is much better than any others opposition parties...thus, they didn't need to joint force. They still under estimate the HS regime (while still look down on HS as a temple boy...what can he know about politic?). Well, when you underestimate you enermy streng, or over estimater your ability (egoesssssssss)...in politice...what is count is the outcome...thus, one must give credit to HS party.....he was well prepare....

I don't know about that. Corruption does exist everywhere. Look at U.S, isn't U.S the most corrupted country in the world? Yet it's legal? Look at those million/billionaires and politicians? Aren't they corrupted like hell? Still the law is always on their side. Everybody knows, but nobody can't do anything about it. Yes, there are laws. But remember, the laws are always sided with the rich/famous! They have money and hire an expensive lawyers.
Terrorist is deadly. Terrorist kills innocent people. Look at the suicide bombers! Weren't they terrorists? Cambodia has come a loooooong way in the past years! So we should leave the country the way it is. Forget about politics! It's sucked!
Let's all unite! We don't want another civil war! Things are good right now, and it will get better if we all in this together.
    Khmer rules!
