Labor Day "Who Killed Chea Vichea" Documentary Incident

1. Raising the screen at Wat Laingka
2. Local authorities forcibly removing the screen
3. Mr. Rong Chhun and Mu Sochua interviewed by local and international press
4. District authority demanding removal of second screen
5. Police pushing for removal of second screen
6. Long Ri speaking with local and international press

On Saturday 1st May, many SRP MPs, including Mu Sochua, Ho Vann, Long Ri, Son Chhay, Men Sothavarin and provincial councilor, Thach Seitha, brought their support to Mr. Rong Chhun, president of the Cambodian Independent Teachers Association and the Confederation of Cambodian Unions. Mr. Chhun had planned on screening the documentary "Who killed Chea Vichea" by filmmaker Bradley Cox at Wat Laingka on Labour Day at 5pm .

The video has been banned from being screened by the Cambodian authorities across the country due to the Union not being provided a proper authorization by the relevant government ministries. Yet, many including the SRP and foreign diplomats considered this non-provision a violation of freedom of speech. The SRP, through this act, aimed at emphasizing the need to respect freedom of expression by all in the country, and most importantly by official authorities.

During the event, Mr. Chhun placed a white screen to display the documentary. Very shortly after, the anti-riot police intervened and asked Mr. Chhun to bring it down. At his insistence to keep the screen up, the police resorted to bringing it down themselves and removing it to their vehicle by force. Mu Sochua and fellow MPs arrived shortly after. Mr. Chhun and MPs expressed their disappointment and disapproval to the local and international press concerning the authorities' actions. After a period of discussion with the police authorities, Mr. Chhun, with the support of MPs, brought another screen, in an attempt to go ahead with their original decision. However, the police forcibly removed the second screen. Mu Sochua announced that the video would now be screened at the SRP headquarters and again next week at Wat Laingka. "The people want the truth and justice. Chea Vichea is our hero. The video must be shown"(Mu Sochua).

Who is kill Chea Vichea will be the myth, the sharp myth that can drag Hun Sen and his government to illegitimate stage.

CPP government is not legitimate as uncountable murderers and perpetrators have never been convicted or brought to justice.

Hun Sen's a former Khmer Rouge and he always use his power, fist, threaten to opposition party. He has no capacity to debate with other people who run and race against him. He won election because he use his clans or all his gangs to bribe, buy votes, scared, and etc. to vote for his party. Well, I hope all Cambodian one of these day will learn, brave to stand up and fight for your freedom by them self. Don't let Hun Sen's regime to intimidate you and your family. You have to call all Cambodian inside to rise up and speak up otherwise you all will live under this oppression government forever. Wake Up Khmers in Cambodia. It's about time to fight for your basic rights and democracy in Cambodia. Open your eyes and ears and look at Thailand.

Who killed Chea Vichea? Why does the government fail to arrest the real murderers? Why are the government trying to ban the film?

The government should be more transparent in this. If they government is try to ban the film and any Chea Vichea supporting activities, it is pretty reflected the answers already.

The government must prove that they are commiting to fight against the crime.

Are you happy to live under this type of regime in which your own lives could be at risk anytime and no one could bring you justic?

The ban of this documentary shows Dictator Hun Sen guilty as hell. Hun Sen is too scare to let people see it. If Hun Sen has nothing to hide why ban it???The same scenario with the Khmer Rouge Tribunal, Hun Sen is too scare to let the international prosecutors near him, because Hun Sen has something to hide.

Dictator Hun Sen is no "strongman", because Hun Sen continues to run away from the law. Dictator Hun Sen continues to live above the law.

    KHMER Angkor.

Hun Sen never ever rules the world. Will Hun Sen walks away free from all kind of crimes he has committed to all innocent people? Why khmers let him consolidates all the laws in his hand? I do hope this kind of documentary film could stimulus the unsolved murder mystery of Chea Vichea's case. Stop oppressing the people s' freedom of speech.

Who Killed Chea Vichea? The answer very simple:
The killer is Hun Sen's body guard or Hun Sen's right hand. Why it's taking so long for this government to find out the Killer, because it's contradict to Hun Sen's regime if they catch the killer. You don't need a PHD to see or analyze the situation and the law system in Cambodia.

If Hun Sen did not do anything wrong, then there is nothing to hide and as if the gov't try to stop such freedom of expression, then it became obvious very that Hun Sen and his gov't must be responsible for Chea Vichea's death!. Therefore, you must help people find the real killer, so that this person's soul can rest in peace. Now imagine he is Hun Sen's son wouldn't he want to find the killer who committed such crime or say if he is Hun Sen himself, wouldn't his soul wants to find the real killer too?.So,just remember this, "treat others like you want to be treated". In the end no one can get away from anything. So, do the right thing for the righteous will live forever and the wicked will be terminated. Aust

This appears to be nothing more than setting up a movie screening on the street, and for that you need the proper permit. It can be shown at the numerous houses in the country which would be the natural way to do it- but no let's create a scene so we can again show how the RGC is suppressing us.
