"Lawsuit is an effective trap used by the CPP to distract the opposition parties from focusing on how to win the upcoming election."Madam Mu Sochua is seen as a courageous woman of Cambodia who dares to challenge Prime Minister Hun Sen who is characterized as a strongman or a dictator by ordinary Cambodians and by the West. Mu Sochua sometimes is called a Cambodia’s Aung San Suu Kyi. I would like to appreciate for her courage and commitment to bring justice and real democracy for Cambodians.
Everybody knows that Hun Sen is a dictator controlling everything in Cambodia, from legislative body to judiciary branch of the government. Mr. Yash Ghai, the formerUN Special Representative to Cambodia on Human Rights, used to say, all power in Cambodia is in the hand of Prime Minister Hu Sen including the court. Not only the opposition parties but also civil society organization and ordinary Cambodian citizen know that Hun Sen is the only man who decides everything in Cambodia, i.e. all power in Cambodia is in the hand of Hun Sen only.
I just have a doubt on Madam Mu Sochua’s lawsuit with Hun Sen. Regarding this lawsuit, everybody, including Madam Sochua, knows in advance that the Cambodian court of all level will decide in favor of Hun Sen, even though Madam Sochua is not guilty. Why? Because the Cambodian court is controlled by Hun Sen and the CPP. If that is the case, why Madam Sochua is still going on this track?
What I am talking now does not mean that Madam Sohua should keep the status quo in Cambodia and stop challenging Hun Sen and the CPP. Rather Madam Sochua should find other strategies and tactics to challenge Hun Sen and the CPP. Time is short and resources are scarce, so we should use it in the efficient and rational way. I think Madam Sochua and the SRP as a whole should not fall into the trap of hun Sen and the CPP anymore. Use your time and resources going to meet the voters to help them, if possible, rather involving with the lawsuit with Hun Sen or the CPP.
Cambodians know how Hun Sen and the CPP are bad, how the CPP court makes them suffer. So stop advertising the image of Hun Sen and the CPP. They grabbed the land from the farmers; they evicted the people from urban poor and dumped in the miserable locations, so everybody knows this. Lawsuit is an effective trap used by the CPP to distract the opposition parties from focusing on how to win the upcoming election.

Disgrace Mu Sochua’s problem all along, is that she is trying to be a politician. She's not, never has been and quite obviously, never will be. She should have just been herself, provide alternative policies and show Khmer people what a great alternative MP opposition she would be. Instead, her foray into being a politician has been a disaster. She comes across as pretending to be something she's not. Now, her political career is on the line and herself also in the hot water.
ReplyDeleteWhile the nation is facing complex economic, social and environmental issues disgrace Mu Sochua tried to promote her political stunt, aimed to get media attention. If this wasn’t such a clear demonstration of her selfish pursuit of personal ambition it would be laughable. There is no doubt that Mu Sochua has no real regard for the best interest of the nation. She is driven solely by a desire to become a “Champion of Women or a new Aung San Suu Kyi” by any means available to her, even if that has the potential to destabilize the country. Even worse, she is attempted to make trouble after she lose her case in the Supreme Court against Prime Minister Hun Sen. Will she happy going to jail or pay the fine? Everyone can bet for it.
People of integrity admit their faults, make amends and are judged fairly...Disgrace Mu Sochua is lacking in integrity and common sense and tries to change Cambodia into her own world. As long as Cambodia’s Court doesn’t issue any verdict which is fitted for her political stunt, she will screaming for the justice all day long.

try to tell that to donors; they don't see mr. hun sen as a dictator. in fact it's the opposite; they see him as a reformist to some degree. of course, he was in power for a long time, but who to pick only on cambodia about that? look around the world, some countries in the world too have leaders who were in power for a long time. it goes to shows those leaders aren't that bad in the eyes of the beholders. if people failed to understand or see the reality, then there is nothing they can really do except to continue to whine, bitch and complain, etc... there is a a right way to do thing, choose wisely, ok! showing jealousy and contempt is not one of them, really! instead why not be more objective instead of subjective, really! the opposition leadership should know better than that, really! they are dealing with cambodia as a nation, not just some dictator as they often ignorantly claimed, you know! call for reforms in cambodia in the right way which is good and better. any other way, donors will sure to frown against, i'm sure. again, cambodia is nation, not some activists or ngo, ok! yes, analyze the term government of cambodia, that what donor homor, not some break away or maverick politician or unruly people, etc, you know! continue your crusade to denounce the legitimate gov't of cambodia is destructive and not counted as legitimate, instead why not request for reforms! god bless cambodia.
