It’s Now or Never!

Op-Ed by Neay Krud’th
Three armies may be robbed of their leader, no WRETCH can be robbed of his/her WILL” - Confucius
The author has recently noticed many of the spins regarding Sister Mu Sochua’s stance against Phnom Penh judicial systems’ ruling appear to be unjustly hinged upon her gender and her SRP affiliation.

If one isolates the tree from the forest, and set aside all biases, one would find a valiant Khmer freedom activist emerging from a dejected citizenry, and onto a war path for citizen rights and justice. The only apparent oddity seen by many in this arcane political wasteland is her stubbornness in applying 21st Century approach of struggle for democratic principles to confront stone-age barbarians. Well… so were Lady Aung San Suu Kyi, and most vividly in recent memory the Chinese student who stood in front of a 60-ton moving tank in Tiananmen Square, naming a few. They did not necessarily and/or explicitly win, but their image is indelible from the psyche of freedom and democracy advocates around the world for years to come by virtue of their willingness to leverage their personal life and liberty for fellow countrymen who are unable or unwilling to toe the line. In this respect Sister Sochua has just raised the “bid price” of citizen rights and justice for every Cambodian man, woman, and child, while many including this author are still feeling “puny”.

To better present the argument, the author would like to borrow from the old sage Confucius the following quote ― “Three armies may be robbed of their leader, no WRETCH can be robbed of his/her WILL”.

The generally expected outcome as a result of this stand-off is the ego contest scoring against the ruling Viet’s puppet in Phnom Penh, which is futile because as we know barbarians have no concept of civilized sportsmanship, their cognitive system is programmed to behave as predators. The other expected gain would be the raising of the international community’s awareness and concerns regarding our plight, in particular among the champions of democracy such as the U.S., Europeans, Australians, etc. But make no mistake, these so-called world leaders’ deeds speak louder than their words. These economic and political/military superpowers have their special agenda, and at times are seen preoccupied in competing for turf, favor, and secured access to trade ― the script of the old “cold war” drama is being dusted off and re-enacted under the title of “Angkor Sentinel Exercise” right here and now in Cambodia as we speak.

In the author personal opinion, the enormous true benefit we Cambodian people hope to gain will be a “jolt” to our sleeping psyche from Sister Sochua’s implicit message that we are that “WRETCH” Confucius referred to, and that her spark of “WILL” shall be multiplied 14.8 Million times over, to get all of us across this tyrannical landscape with dignity and pride as Khmers and as member of the human race. The urgency of her message is “the time to act is NOW” lest we all become ROAD-KILLS.

P.S.: Dear Khmers make way for your sisters to SHINE!

Disgrace Mu Sochua’s problem all along, is that she is trying to be a politician. She's not, never has been and quite obviously, never will be. She should have just been herself, provide alternative policies and show Khmer people what a great alternative MP opposition she would be. Instead, her foray into being a politician has been a disaster. She comes across as pretending to be something she's not. Now, her political career is on the line and herself faces going to jail.

While the nation is facing complex economic, social and environmental issues disgrace Mu Sochua tried to promote her political stunt, aimed to get media attention. If this wasn’t such a clear demonstration of her selfish pursuit of personal ambition it would be laughable. There is no doubt that Mu Sochua has no real regard for the best interest of the nation. She is driven solely by a desire to become a “Champion of Women or new Aung San Suu Kyi” by any means available to her, even if that has the potential to destabilize the country. Even worse she isn't going to pay the fine and contempts with the Supreme Court's order.

People of integrity admit their faults, make amends and are judged fairly...Disgrace Mu Sochua is lacking in integrity and common sense and tries to change Cambodia into her own world. As long as Cambodia’s Court doesn’t issue any verdict which is fitted for her political stunt, she will scream for the justice all day long.

Sure Mrs Mu Sochua is a politician and MP of the Cambodian Parliament.

    And who are you ?

In technicality, Mu Sochua is not Khmer. In fact, she is Chinese-Vietnamese and has US citizen. She is just come to cause trouble in Cambodian society to promote her political stunt.

Despite Mu Sochua has no Khmer blood but she is SRP member and against the CPP means she is Khmer woman, by contrary, if you are Khmer but you are the CPP member or not supporting SRP means you are not Khmer.

You are Khmer or not it depends what political party you are supporting. So, the choice is yours!

Of course we all knew, that Mrs. Mu Sochua is a Chinese Khmer descent, but she was born and went to school in Cambodia. Important for us, that she loves their or our country Cambodia. She also did not know, how to eat dog.

Who are you, where you were born & went to school ? Do you really love our country Cambodia ?

whether Madam Mu is khmer or not, it doesn't matter. It is what she does as a person is what it matters. Look at Australia, we have chiness, vietnamese, khmer and many other ethnic backgrounds who work for Australia and they are being respected as Australian. So, it doesn't matter!!!!! what matter is what they do for our nation as a whole. As a matter of fact, half of khmers are either vietkhmer, chinkhmer, thaikhmer, burmakhmer, loaskhmer, and otherkhmers. To sum it all up, whoever living in khmer land are all khmer just like whoever live in Australia are all Australian. which is all good!!!!! Peace, peace and peace for all. we called this a 'smart nation'. khmer gov't need to put this common law in place as soon as posible, e.g. everyone is equally important! security and respect is the main goal for all. To do this effectively is to first avoid corruption, just be true and honest at all costs plus adding a welfare system to care for people who are in need first and then everything will be follow suit as you can't shut people up when they don't have food to eat, Aust

khmer in Sydney I don't think you are, because you are a disgrace to Australian. In Australia we don't have people like you here. So, piss off and do't give us any more shame.

Shame on you!!!! you have nothing good to say and your brain is being contaminated by some the racist comments, probably from your own boss to you or your parent to you

    Aust,

You have mentioned about common law. I am really interesting to know about it. So, I want to ask you that "In Australia, which institution that made common law?" Is it all democratic countries have common law?"

I am looking forward to hear your answer soon.

    Khmer In Cambodia,

If you want to know about how to use bad languages to insult other people, you can ask the so called "Aust" and other SRP supporters, but if you want to know about the common law in Australia, you have asked a wrong person.

You asked "Aust" about the common law, it seems you put an orange into that person's throat. If you want to know about the common law or politics in Australia, you should ask the question to Khmer in Sydney.

This is nothing to do with injustice to women. It is a but one Strong Leg lady Vs Strong Leg PM.

It has nothing to do with freedom of speech because it was Mu Sochua who sue HS first about his speech and when he sue her back and won, she cry injustice.

If she know the court is corrupt why in heck she try to sue HS in a corrupted court! This is totally illogical. So this whole mess was started by MS. Mu and now she try to drag more Cambodian women into this mess with her.

To those we are less educated and poor, her appeal seem good from the outside, but they don't know the agenda behind it. Mu Sochua is more concern about making herself famous like Ung San of Burma than to care about individual woman in Cambodia. She is using the blood and pain of others for her own benefits.
