On Sunday, PM Hun Xen displayed a support letter from both of Cambodia’s Buddhist sects for his premiership candidacy in 2013. This political support letter from the clergy is an interference by monks in Cambodia’s politics. Monks’ role in politics is still facing a tug of war, some political parties want monks to vote, while others don’t want monks to be involved in politics.
After receiving the support for his premiership candidacy for the 2013 election from the CPP leadership on 07 January, on Sunday 23 January, Hun Xen displayed the support petition for his premiership candidacy from another source: that from monks from both sects, i.e. the Mohanikay and Thoammayut sects.
During the birthday celebration of Ven. Buor Kry, the supreme patriarch of the Thoammayut sect, on Sunday, Hun Xen thanked the support letter he received from patriarchs of both sects for his candidacy.
The issuing of the support letter by monks from both sects come at a time when the role of monks in Cambodia’s politics is still under a tug of war: some political parties do not want monks to be involved in politics, while others support voting by monks.
According to the Constitution, monks – like the general public – have the rights to vote, but according to the political party law, monks as well as soldiers are prohibited from being involved in politics.
Kul Panha, the executive director for election monitor Comfrel, believes that monks should remain neutral rather than supporting a particular political party.
With about 50,000 monks in Cambodia, their number is not large when compared the 8 million of eligible voters. However, politicians always tried to attract monks to their side because monks have great influence on the Cambodian people who are made up of 80% of Buddhist.

If those monks don't support communist regime like CPP , they have no place in politics . In Cambodia , only communist monks have place in politics .

Buddhism is not communist but one. The Buddha, the founder of this religion admonish all beings to right way and show compassionate to each other but communist are not believed in the doctrines of this ,called Buddhism is communism, democratic nations not criticized her own religion but support.
Enlightenment of all the Buddhas showed the truth to the all, to avoid any evil in all their communities. Communism is not respected the teaching of the Buddha, normally like government leader of Cambodia addressed his immoral speeches to his own nationals.
That is inhuman for his own actions in this world, he ordered his retinues to kill Monks, laymen, students... who fight to be free from Communist leader like Hun Sen ( 1997).
All above, I t is very heart- pained in your scripts without reading or learning Dhamma or the teachings of The Buddha.
Anyway,doctrines in Buddhism are rooted in society like arts, culture,national literature tradition... The leaders not lead her countries by democratic or Buddhist doctrine make her nations poor and poor, domestic violence, land grab, injustice in society.
Leader is impossible to control his nation and sell it to foreign lead it.
They believe in Buddhism but not practise the Buddha's teaching.
He uses communist theory to lead you but you not know anything.
Who see Dharma, see Me and see Nibbana.

When Khmer Rouge overthrew Lon Lon regime, first destroyed Buddhism, cos Buddhism foundation of morality and culture.
When Buddhism disappeared, morality and culture disappeared also.
Nowadays, Vietnam has being continued to sneak these styles in Your brain to kill your parents, relatives... by these styles.
In 1970s, those men were easy to use cos they no moral. ex- Khmer vietminh kill their own nationals who got ideologoy from vietcong

All communist countries never has had believed in religions,but they has had used them as shields to protect their citizens to rise up against them such as China,N.Korea,Cuba,and Vietnam etc...

After Vietnam invading in 1979,a lot of religions are reborn again;but this time,the Khmer communist changed by using Buddhism as political manners to lead Cambodia.The Buddhist monks are Ho Chi monks creating by Vietnam;and even monarchy in Cambodia is communist too.
After researching all the countries around the world,there are none countries that have communist kingdoms except the state of Cambodia.
The three states of Federation:Vietnam,Lao,and Cambodia which called communist Vietcambolao Federation;only Cambodia that has a king.
Is Cambodia a free world or a free country?
