Each year West Point school of military of academy leaves a certain amount of slots for foreigners to participate in the elite American military school. For the American people, to enter West Point, one must rely on one's merit and ability. One has to have an almost perfect GPA, physicaly fit and combined with having parents serving in the government or in the arm forces. If one doesnt have parents serving in the military or the American government, one must get an approval letter from the congressman. However, for the slot alotment to foreigners,entering the West Point is mainly about connnection and not based on merit or special ability. Nevertheless, I would like to congratulate her for her bravery and dedication to serve her country Cambodia. I hope she would apply and pass on of what she had learned in West Point to all the military personal throughout Cambodia. Am also a Khmer born live since 1970 in Europe, but have had some experiences in organizing that kind of study in some military forces or academy in Europe for the member of my own family, who are also living in Europe. Of course the life in the military academy are very hart, expected a lot of sacrifice, discipline and hart work.

F this girl and her family..they are from powerful family the ruling Communist Gov't. She only got in because of her father as a powerful Khmer gov't offical! Granted she had to have a large grasp of the English language! Go study in the VC land! just another Communist!

Congratulations to Cadet Meach Sithika for her amazing accomplishments in graduating from West Point. However, I just wanted to recognize my sister, Cadet Vanara Soeung, West Point class of 2004, who is also Cambodian. I'm very proud of these ladies and how they've represented the Cambodian community. Thank you!
