However, as for you, if you commit to protect Sihanouk at all cost the best defense is asking Sihanouk to plead insanity. But it's hard to prove that he was insane from 1970 to 1978, during which up to 2M khmers were killed, as you need medical records from China to prove. But since medical records from from China are not up to standard by international standard it's hard to use them as proof. Once the 2M deads believed that Sihanouk was really insane at the time, then the 2M victims probably can forgive him.

Did the number population in the community justified having two or three Buddhist temples? That's sign of division among khmers. To me, division among Khmers hit the breaking point now. Some people think that by shutting up people from criticizing Sihanouk help unify khmers. I don't think that's the case as khmers division was known to be existed even before Sihanouk ruled the country. Ly Diep is Viet or Viet spy as you alleged I don't care. What I care about is what he wrote is true or not? Free world is not discrimate against anyone. Ly Diep as human being enjoyed the same right as anyone else: freedeom of expression. Unless you can prove that what he wrote about Sihanouk is not true, then I will continue to support him all the way. And for you as Sihanouk supporters, go back to school and learn more about how the world population excercise its freedom. After all we don't live in the stone age anymore.

ReplyDeleteIt's not about defaming the king. It's the fact that what are said about the king is true. Sihanouk, Hun Sen, Khmer Rouge, Vietnam come from the same clan. Vietnam could not legally invaded Cambodia in the 1970's if Sihanouk did not beg it to help. Khmer Rouge cannot win the 1970-1975 war if Sihanouk was not Khmer Rouge leader at the time. It's not easy to forget the past when, as the result of his action, two million Khmers were perished under the king's leadership and we still are facing the hardship up until now. Stop blindly support this stupid king. Right now instead of accusing Ly Diep of being a Viet spy you should find a way to counter Ly Diep by proving that what he said about the king is not true, otherwise you are just a loser.

If Ly Diep is mentally ill as you alleged, and yet he is able to write the truth in detail about Sihanouk he must be an amazing people as everything he wrote is true. However, as for you, if you commit to protect Sihanouk at all cost the best defense is asking Sihanouk to plead insanity. But it's hard to prove that he was insane from 1970 to 1978, during which up to 2M khmers were killed, as you need medical records from China to prove. But since medical records from from China are not up to standard by international standard it's hard to use them as proof. Once the 2M deads believed that Sihanouk was really insane at the time, then the 2M victims probably can forgive him.
Former King Sihanouk is an old man and quite a controversial person in a recent Cambodian history.

It is best if Cambodians learn to focus their energy and thoughts on how they can help move Cambodia forward rather hanging on to the old painful past.
His assitance to the KR did help them achieve victory in 1975, but they did not have to take Cambodia back to year zero and killed people.
After all, without Sihanouk, his friendship with China and his FUNCINPEC in partnership with other nationalists and fighters including the KR, Cambodia may not have seen the Paris Peace Agreement.

One can preach all he/she wants about unity, but I don't think unity exists in khmers' mind. Division among Khmers exists since Angkor era up to now, otherwise our country is not this small. Look at Cambodia as whole. Look at small Khmer communities in America such Long Beach, or Dallas as an exemple. What is the number of the population of each community? Did the number population in the community justified having two or three Buddhist temples? That's sign of division among khmers. To me, division among Khmers hit the breaking point now. Some people think that by shutting up people from criticizing Sihanouk help unify khmers. I don't think that's the case as khmers division was known to be existed even before Sihanouk ruled the country. To me, Sihanouk supporters used this pretext just for their own political gain: silence people from criticizing Sihanouk.

My experiences at work place is that the US Gov't agencies like in FBI etc., the gov't hired many mentally ill employees, but the Govt't also provides helps for them too.

Many employees have disease like Ly Diep and it is called Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD). This disease caused the person to have obsessions like keeps repeating the same certain thing over and over again. Like Ly Diep cannot move onto the next subject, because he is sick.
How to cure this disease, the sick person needs helps from his family and community and/or he can try to learn new things/subjects avoid repeating over and over again in one subject for the past few years.
