Preah Vihear province – The invading Thai troops from zones 2 and 4 boasted a declaration claiming that they want to fight and take over the 4.6-sq-km zone, an area that the invading Thai claimed to be an overlapping zone based on unilateral Thai map. This information was reported by a Cambodian troop source stationed in the Veal Entry area on 09 Feb 2010. The sourced added that the Thai invading troops made this declaration after Hun Xen’s 3-day visit to the border zone.
Nevertheless, the Cambodian source indicated that, currently, the Cambodian army is prepared to face any invaders who want to swallow Khmer land. Cambodian troops will wait and see what action the Thai troops will take today or tomorrow. However, right now the situation in this zone still remains normal.
