PM Hun Xen considers the Thai government as thieves who attempt to take Preah Vihear temple and make it theirs. Regarding this problem, the Cambodian government has already prepared all the documents to complain to the UN Security Council.
Hun Xen’s declaration was made during the 12th Cultural Day celebration which was titled “The revere Preah Vihear temple is a Khmer achievement and a World Heritage”. The celebration was held at the Chaktokmouk conference center on 03 March.
Hun Xen added that Thailand attempted to produce false documents when it fought [with Cambodian troops] at the Veal Entry [Eagle Field] and the Phnom Trop zones with the aim of inflicting damage to the Preah Vihear temple. Hun Xen said that if Thailand continues to pursue Cambodia, he will bring his complaint to the UN Security Council.
Hun Xen declared: “As for them [Thailand], they burnt, they destroyed, they do whatever they want because they are thieves. So the thieves do not know what is good from what is bad! But, this does not mean that this point shows the weakness of Cambodia unwilling to fight back against the aggression troops at all! Whatever the price, we must defend it. There is no 4.6 [square km, the territory claimed by Thailand] in there! It is just this government of thieves who declared about this 4.6 issue. I am making myself clear about this location, and yesterday, Cambodia already prepared a letter to be sent to the UN Security Council if necessary. Sometimes, there is no need to wait for long. Now they [Thailand] are shaking up the World Heritage commission, if I am fed up, then we must send the letter to the [UN] Security Council.”
Chuch Phoeun, the secretary of state of the ministry of Culture and Fine Arts, told RFA that Cambodia clearly knows that it lost a number important stone inscriptions that Thailand took away.
Chuch Phoeun indicated: “Actually, there were stone inscriptions lost … a lot of the writings that decorated the road were lost, they are almost all gone. We don’t know who took them. But I believe that for the important artifacts, i.e. the stone inscriptions, Thailand took ours, [they took whatever] they can take with them. The listing of the various work , I don’t know what was lost and what was left! Because what The Hague Tribunal said is all jumbled up, it did not say what was lost, they only said that Thailand must return them back.”
The Preah Vihear temple was approved to be listed as a World Heritage in June 2008 by the World Heritage Commission. On 15 June 2008, several hundreds of Thai black-clad soldiers came to occupy a Cambodian temple located next to the Preah Vihear temple. A confrontation between Thai and Cambodian troops ensued and this situation lasted until now.
At the same time, Hun Xen used to warn the successive Thai governments about his desire to bring his complain to the UN Security Council following troops pullout negotiation failures with Thailand.

Beside what the current Siem leaders especially AH ABISHIT is doing right now such the continuation of sending more Siem troop to occupy Cambodian land and the continuation of killing of unarmed Cambodian people along the Cambodia-Thailand border and the continuation of deporting mostly Cambodian people out of Thailand is an all out war against Cambodia already! Take the issue of Siem naked aggression on Cambodian sovereignty to the UN Security Council which spell out in the Paris Agreement!

ReplyDeleteAt the begining, we admire his courage to stand up to the Thais, but as time goes by we see him doing or saying nothing to youns in the East (we lost substantial land to border demarcation, yuons forbid Khmer Krom to watch TV or listen to radio from Cambodia ...etc).
What is the point of defending Preah Vihear, a small piece of antique relics, while the whole country is lost to yuons?
Show us or show it to yourself that you are a true son of Cambodia and that you are not Hanoi subservient who kill your own country and coutrymen!
