The Rally at the United Nations Headquarters in New York City, New York, USA against Hun Sen and his Governmental Officials on 24 September 2010 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at East 47st Street & 2nd Avenue.
Maryland - Wednesday, September 22, 2010: We are, the Cambodians, and Cambodian-Americans from Virginia, Maryland, Philadelphia, New Jersey, New York, Road islands, Massachusetts, Canada, and others are proudly hosting the Rally in front of the Headquarters, United Nations against Hun Sen, and his Government Officials for these following reasons:
Maryland - Wednesday, September 22, 2010: We are, the Cambodians, and Cambodian-Americans from Virginia, Maryland, Philadelphia, New Jersey, New York, Road islands, Massachusetts, Canada, and others are proudly hosting the Rally in front of the Headquarters, United Nations against Hun Sen, and his Government Officials for these following reasons:
- Illegal treaties (1979, 1982, 1983, 1985, and Supplemental Treaty of 2005 ) with Vietnam---Hun Sen’s Former Communist Boss during Vietnam’s armed occupied forces to colonize Cambodia from 1979 to present and recent borders encroachments and flooding of illegal Vietnamese Immigrants into Cambodia.
- Disregarded and unimplemented the Paris Peace Agreement on 23 Oct 1991 to its fullest extent.
- Land grabbing, illegal land concessions and evictions of innocence people by armed forces from their homes and their lands.
- Selling of National Assets (States’ Buildings, Forest, Land, Sands, Oil and underground Minerals.
- Using Judicial Systems to silence oppositions and innocence citizens.
- Make Cambodia to be the one of the corrupted nations in the world from the bottom-up.
- Interfering and manipulating of Extra Ordinary Chamber in the Court of Cambodia (ECCC)---Khmer Rouge Tribunal (KRT).
- Did not use International Court of Justice (ICJ) ruling on 15 June 1962 on Preah Vihear issue to solve the problem with Thailand and Thais’ ambition on Preah Vihear and its vicinity.
- Monopoly Media by his own family.
- Hun Sen turns Cambodia into Burmese’s Junta.
- Created Corruption-Law only to protect their corrupted inner-circle members.
- Pocketing money for themselves from foreign donors, and foreign loans from foreign
- countries.
- Wasteful spending on outdated and useless military equipment & weapons where his Government is living by foreign donors and the country unemployment is skyrocketing.
- And many others.

Most People are Fools. Imagine if now FUNCINPEC become the leading Party in Cambodia. This poor Funcinpec People would fill their pockets at first with the money of the people.
The Question is:
Is there anybody who can do the job better than Hun Sen?
The Problem is not the Government in Cambodia!
The problem is the People where so many are lazy.
Have a look in Phnom Penh. Why so many Chinese People come with small money to Cambodia but after a few years they become rich?
They work hard EVERY day and their Family hold together and help each other.
You can see this when Chinese man marry a Khmer woman. The children get a good education, are CLEAN and clever.
As long as the Khmer People do not understand that they have to work harder nothing will change.
OF COURSE, a few people work hard but THE MOST are lazy! They work and when they have enough to eat they stop work.
This is not a way to build a country up!

I support these actions, but I would like to lament that they poorly organized and always to the last minute! This is why nothing gets done and no attention is brought to the wider audience who love and would support our endeavor for democracy in Cambodia.

ReplyDeletePopular proverb keeps saying that "don't expect your country to do something for you, but you have to do something for your country" is truly reflecting to the ups and downs in our motherland, Cambodia. In the past, evidently Cambodian people including their leaders are relying all hopes to the country with one god-king like leader in bringing fate of the nation. Finally, the belief in leadership style of god-king like has brought us suffering and unbreakable trauma.
Current age of globalization, individuals have power to express and act out to define their own fate and family prosperity. People are the owner of the nation, not the leaders are the owner of our fate like a belief in a cave-man age of god-king.
So, have you asked yourself what have you done for your country up to now? Have you voiced your concern about your country? Have you ever written letters of protest to those misbehavior leaders? Have you participated any rally or protest to show your solidarity to the world?
This is a chance for all Cambodian diaspora to shoulder together to this rally. Firstly, I am disappointed that the notice of this gathering is likely late, but by our commitment on unity and "talk the talk" philosophy, we have to go there together without delay.
Of course, in this free land, each of us can pursue full rights to demonstrate, rally or dissent our opinion regarding wrong doing of those leaders.
America and Canada, their leaders are happy to be criticized and dissented. Those leaders put their success on the feedbacks of their people, like the retailers can sell much of their products by listening to the needs of the customers.
It is common sense for those brilliant and open-minded leaders to open space for their citizens to criticize and dissent them. It is common sense those practices prevailed them prosperity, democracy, justice and sustainability.
Yes, when we say this, Cambodia is very contradict. All dissenting messages are regarded as anti-government. Government mouthpieces have never sympathized those critics and put those critics into their agenda to successfully serve their people at all.
So this rally is not only an open door for exercising of our rights, but also to help improve livelihood of our brothers and sisters in Cambodia. More than this, it is a good tool for Hun Sen government to consider improve his leadership as well.
Beside of joining the rally, I appreciate the purposes aggregated in this rally agenda, and I would like to add few objectives more such as to request the US-ASIA summit of:
- Returning back all law-makers immunity to allow them exercise their duties freely without fear of political reprisal.
- To stop using court to silence the oppositions and dissents, and open way for the safe return of Sam Rainsy who is the president of Sam Rainsy Party.
- Stop all types of "abusing of power" by the top officers of incumbent government.
However, all suggested objectives of this rally are already absolutely beneficial to Cambodia as whole; and I would like to congratulate Michael Duong for take a lead of this rally and your teamwork to make this day meaningful for Cambodia.

Corrupt authority tells nothing about itself and seeks to secretly know everything about the individual in name of “national security.” A constant state of war is necessary, and is produced to divert attention away from the true cause and to justify a police state of affairs. The cost of maintaining a police state is enormous, just ask the Ancient Romans if you could. More and more of the economy is always devoted to servicing the growing military/police state, but it cannot be sustained.
The end can turn out in different ways. Often the criminals behind the proverbial curtain will loot the treasury and escape, leaving the country burn. Or, a slow death in which the corruption saps perception of credibility from all authority, and authority is nothing without credibility. It is the people who give authority in the first place. The purpose of non-violent protests is to demonstrate this. However non-violent protests are generally isolated and for a finite time. In the end, people en-mass will walk away from the system itself, permanently, leaving it defenseless.

ReplyDeleteYou ask Khmer in the United States to stand up and support Hun Sen ? You must have been dreaming . Khmer in the United States ( included myself ) hate Hun Sen more than a skunk and if they have a chance they will eat Hun Sen alive according to what he has done to the poor in Cambodia.
Khmer Young of Washington DC agree with 12:47 AM and call all good people to accomplish this mission.

I support all Khmer oversea who will protest at Washington DC against Hun Sen.Put in action better than doing nothing for years.If we could go to protest with them,but we would encourage them .Thank you for your bravest action.
ReplyDeleteMany Cambodian are still behaving like wild animals. They don't know how to treat their own citizen with respect and with dignity.
ReplyDeleteDuring Pol Pot regime, many of them have been appointed by Pol Pot and his clan to have a position in their government, they have treated their citizen like dirt and valued them worst than animals. Now under Hun Sen, they are still behaving themselves the same. By having another extra of dollars, car and motorbike and a job, they treated their own citizen like dirst again.
These behavious will not help Cambodia and Cambodian at all.
Regardless who are in the government, we must stand firm for social justice, social fairness and independent judgement to all our citizen and we must learn how to protect our helpless citizen. Offcourse we value very much for all our successfull citizen in their profession and in their financial success. But we must also protect others helpless from exploitation.
Eg many poor farmer girls have been exported to Malaysia and to Korea are very shamefull to Cambodia Nation and it must be stopped.
We can only be prouded if can export our Doctors, our engineers, our consultants to work overseas and our soldiers for world peace projects.
I urge for those who are working as Hun Sen dog guards to refrain their barking to our respected citizen all around the globe.

Because HUN and His Wife never been rich before so they are so scared to lose it. Who created The Great Khmer Empire - Hun Xen or Jayvarman VII? Hun Zen the 100 times great grand children of Jayvaraman VII therefore The Hun Family think they are the one who build Cambodia on Donor Money -- you and I tax payer. Tell THE HUN to stop build the land, it has no love and harmony in side his ambitions. We dont' want to see the HUN legacy in side Cambodia any more. We are so sick of he and his wife 's FACES. EWWWWWWW!!

HunSen is Youn slave and gave Khmer land to Youn, money and corruption are just a little problem but Khmer land losing to Yuon is Khmer lifetime suffering and countryless. You can take all the money but losing land to Youn is not acceptable. Ok let say if you own a home I come to take your home and killing your family did you say ok just don't kill me next time I found you I take your home again and again what do you say?
