The USA tried to rescue South Vietnam,Cambodia,and Lao from China and Vietnam communists. But the USA lost the war in Southeast Asia because of Sihanouk;he had given Vietcong use Khmer territory along border called Ho Chi Minh Trail,1960. Cambodia was a neutral country, but Sihanouk loved Vietnam and China very much;he hated USA. Why USA dropped bombs in Cambodia along Vietnam and far inside Cambodia? Because Vietcong were hiding there.Khmer people and Vietcong were dead. It was Sihanouk fault. The USA bombed on Vietcong who were hiding in Cambodia. In 1970,Sihanouk called for help to get power back.Vietcong came back Khmer people again. The old generation knew that Khmer Rouge(China dogs) and Khmer Viet- minh(Vietnam dogs)were enemies because they served different masters. Nuon Chea was a Red Thai(1930); he studied in Thailand and worked part-time job with foreign Thai cabinet as secretary.
