khmer angkor civilization was a big deal. it should be integrated into the world history in a big way, just just a small part. i strongly believe the khmer angkor civilization gave birth to other civilization, especially ones of laos and thailand.
even in angkor time, 1296ad was toward the last era for it. imagine going back after the reign of king indravarman I, yasovarman, rajendravarman, suryavarman I and II and jayavarman VII. those kings were at the flower of the khmer angkor civilization. when the chinese envoy, chou takwan visited angkor, that was end its final flowering years. even that, angkor was so beautiful and powerful.
I don't think it's going to be a feature length film out of this, but I could be wrong. The credits tell us it's done by academics or researchers; this is probably just their experiment - an animated peak or glimpse into the Angkorian past.
Yet, this is so well put together, bringing the Angkor period to life, and I wouldn't mind sitting through two hours of it, if there were one.
Thanks to whom ever brought this animation to live about Ankorian s era . To ah youn you ass hole better watch out at this digital age khmers are not stupid as the thought .All ah youn greedy bastard shall be leaving Cambodia for safe or otherwise TROL island and Kampuchea Krom must be returned to the right full land owner ASAP
i'm glad to see people are now beginning to pay attention to the history of cambodia instead of ignore it and pretend it doesn't exist ever.

ReplyDeleteIf I'm not wrong, it's Tom Chandler (David Chandler's son who is an independent Khmer academic) who's creating this beautiful animation.
ReplyDeleteDo you know when will the film available to the public SOV?
