Following the declaration made by Funcinpec that it would help Prince Ranariddh to return back home and avoid the jail sentence handed to him should the prince accept to disband his party and return back to Funcinpec as the party’s historical president, high-ranking CPP officials said that they would not oppose the return of Prince Ranariddh. Nguon Nhel, first vice-president of the National Assembly, said his party (CPP) has no problem with the return of the prince to occupy his position as the historical president of Funcinpec which is the partner of the current coalition government. Nguon Nhel told The Cambodia Daily that the CPP will not oppose, and there will not be any problem. Mar Sophal, monitoring chief for Comfrel said that Funcinpec needs the prince. Mar Sophal said that Funcinpec saw that NRP received good results (during the commune election), and if the prince refused to return back to Funcinpec, this party will face problems in the 2008 (general election).

This is Ah Sam Nazi's nightmare.
They know fair well the the
FUNINPEC will get all their votes
back from the SRP in the coming
    election. Thus, I would
anticipated that Ah Sam Nazi will
tried to mislead Ranarith not to
merge the NRP with the FUNCINPEC.

Don't listen to anything Ah Sam
    Nazi says, buddy (N. Ranarith).
Think about your future and the
future of the monarchy and the
    royalists.

It is sad to see that these Cambodian leaders does not care about Ranariddh's guilt or innocent. They just care what kind of politcal gain they can have. It does not speak well of justics in Cambodia now or in the future. Rules of law only apply to the common people; while the ruling elite can do whatever they want. Sad!

That is good enough, 10:52, no
    rule-of-law ever applied to
    everyone anywhere. Keep in mind
that 99.99% of people are common
people. And if you can score 99.99%
    on your college examination. That
will be a clear A's, no doubt.

12:06, it would be good enough if you run a mafia state like Cambodia; but it's not good enough if you want to establish Cambodia econmically for the long run.
We do not live in a perfect world; so I agree with you that 99.99% application of law for everyone is impossible. However you failed to see that even with 60% or 75% like in most other developing countries, it would be better off than in Cambodian where justics does not work. I would be happy if it works 50% in Cambodia.

Huh? where did you get your stat
from, 1:15. Over here, all of the
14 millions are under the same
    rule-of-laws. Only a very few
riches are exempt from it, due to
    favor, bias, loopoles ... and
what have you. Don't try to be a
    hero to eliminate this impossible
problem and forget the poor people
who desperately and long waited for
jobs, bro. It is wrong, wrong,
    wrong.
