On Thursday 29 May, Prime minister Hun Sen broached again on the survey conducted by the International Republican Institute (IRI). He revealed that one question asked by the survey was not made publicly available in the official results provided by the IRI on Wednesday 28 May.

Prior to the publication of the survey results, IRI and USAID representatives took the entire results to show Sok An, the vice-prime minister, and in the document presented, the following question was included: “Will you vote for the CPP at the election?”, to which, 55% of the answers said “yes” and 25% said “maybe”, Hun Sen reported with a lot of enthusiasm.

“If we can convince the 25% of undecided, it would be awesome!” Hun Sen burst before detailing that the IRI chose not to display this question “for fear of other political parties.”

Hun Sen now shows a keen interest in surveys, “real tools for democracy” he claimed while adding that their results should not be underestimated. Nevertheless, he asked government officials, high-ranking officials, and CPP members not to abandon their effort before the 27 July election date “because these are just predictions, nothing is certain yet.”

Furthermore, Hun Sen called on Funcinpec candidates not to join the CPP anymore. “If you are defecting (to join the CPP), I would ask you to return back to where you came from!” However, he is mum when it comes to SRP defectors

IRI sucking up to Sock An and CPeeP.
    The question is why?
Could it be oil prices are rising beyond U.S influence and even middle east allies is not going to work with them on giving cheaper prices?

IRI or Any American group gives nothing for Democracy. Like everything else, Democracy in American politic is a commodity. They will sell it at the best price.

Sell it or buy it. In this case IRI is buying Hun Sen's democracy, and selling of Khmer people's hope of real democracy.

    Congratulation IRI!

Ah do ma 7:20AM has lobster brain and sub-human brain, so it's useless for you guys to have a civilize discussion with it. Don't expect ah youn-khmer/khmer-youn to have pity for the khmer plight, when ever you see its comment just ignore it or abuse it without reading or thinking. From the look of it I'm pretty sure that this pest/weed is not Khmer, 100% dog eater.

The resulf of a survey depends on the methodology being used. Size of sample, how to pick the sample, content and tone of questionnaire, environment of interview, can influence the result.

The interviewers can also influence the result.

All and all, what are the objectives of the survey? IRI is the only one who know.

The IRI survey focussed only on the "hardware" and not on the "software". It's not a democratic style survey.

Not true, the CPP is flooded with FUNCINPEC at the moment. They just want to fairly reserved room for everyone, that is all.

I and we are the people are choosing Sam Rainsy over HUN SEN cause HUN SEN is not serving Cambodian interest. We must vote for changes and must vote for SAM RAINSY.
