"Hun Sen's speeches will not be able to persuade me to believe in him"

Ruling party ignoring the more pressing issues

Tuesday, 18 August 2009
Seng Ratha
Letter to The Phnom Penh Post

Dear Editor,

In recent months the Cambodian People's Party has unfairly cracked down on human rights groups, opposition parties and Khmer newspaper editors.

For example, Mu Sochua, a member of the National Assembly, was openly trapped by the CPP. Between the Cambodian Constitution and Hun Sen's orders, which has proved more powerful?

To crack down on elected parliamentarians is to threaten and intimidate thousands of people in Cambodia.

When the EU, the US, the UN, donor countries and independent critics criticise the government, Hun Sen and his group always say that their critics do not understand the law.

Hun Sen has said he could completely destroy the opposition party in two hours.
But has his government arrested and imprisoned any of the criminals who killed and shot the journalists, opposition activists, singers and actresses up until now? He needs only two hours to destroy the opposition party. How long will he need to reduce corruption?

Hun Sen's speeches will not be able to persuade me to believe in him.

Seng Ratha

Place hope on Hun Sen's government? Better dream to get the stars or moon falling down to the ground. They are not leaders. they are someones else. You name it... because leader shoud have some qualities in order to lead the country. Some of thenm are:

    In him(/her)self
    The self-discipline and order
    The highly ethical (spiritual) life
    The honesty and integrity
    The stand without compromise
The clear services goals and call
    The diligence and fervour
    The commitment
    The spiritual discernment

    In relationship with others:
    The positive influence on others
    The good example
    The uncompromising love to others
The wisdom in solving the problem
The patience and good attitude during difficult time
The respect to others, both the lowly and great
    The kindness and meekness
The leading by example more than by orders
    The optimistic and positive spirit
    The communication skills
    The courage and boldness

    In practices
    The stability when problems arise
The clear service vision and focus
The readiness to follow other leaders
The encouragement of the weak and the timid
The hard work to reproduce other leaders
    The passion about his/her services
The good and stable relationships with others
    The trustworthiness and trusts others
    The good listener
    The diligent followers behind him/her.

Do some of them have some of these qualities?
If they have, place your confidence in them. If not change them.

mr. hun sen may be a good leader in other way, however, to be a really good leader, one has to learn to listen to all sides as well. one needs to master people's or social skill. one needs to not be so sensitive (perhaps due to local cultural differences or what have you), one needs to be highly educated, i mean the list of good quality goes on and on... i think it is good to be flexible and humble, especially when dealing with own nation. then, people will respect, admire and inspire by that leader (s) charisma. it takes a learned man to be a good leader, meaning he/she have to be able to proudly say, "i've been there, done that and know what it's like." may god help guide leadership in cambodia to develop good character and lead the country to better future and more. god bless cambodia.

yes, a leader is expect to act, say and behave differently above the rest. otherwise, not a respectable leader. it goes for anyone, not just mr. hun sen, to be fair!

since the KR brutality, people tend to forget that khmer culture and tradition is a highly structured society that demand and exhibit high respect, honor, integrity, etc. toward one another. well, we all knew the stupid KR destroy the fabric of khmer good culture, so khmer people have to rebuild that trait again, slowly but surely, it will take times, though! just keep educating everyone and be patient as well. thanks the stupid KR for trying to rid khmer of civility or khmer calls "civilai" or civilized culture in english. it's never too late to rebuild that in cambodia. that what khmer people from all walks of life need, to rebuild the good khmer way of respect, honor, integrity, etc again. god bless cambodia.

Hun sen is no better then pol pot. Better yet, he might be worst then pol pot. Time will tell. As of this point, he is proven to be worst then pol pot.

What kind of democratic system, where the prime minister rules absolutely, and over three terms. Only this foolish backward regime, and threaten anyone anytime.

But dares not open his mouth against illegal youns in cambodia. Dares not open his mouth against vietnam or thailand.

It time for this foolish regime to be judged by the people and the international communities.

Of course, Hun Sen came outside to rant all those rubbish speech is indirectly giving sign to his internal deadly competitor.

But Hun Sen doesn't know how to use SRP as tool to eliminate his internal competitors.

Now, he is creating two enemies: outside his skin and inside his skin.

SRP is not a party that can destroy Hun Sen, but Hun Sen's inside skin and Yuan spies who can eliminate Hun Sen in two hours.

    Bad luck for Cambodia.

Most of Hun Sen and CPP supporters have been brainwashed. They don't really see what's going on around the country. Power abusing, land grabbing, corruption , killing , intimidating and alot more by the Goverment Officials . They only believe whatever Hun Sen says on TV and radion.

Hold your breath for a moment and think about it folks. Why would Hun Sen come out and make this kind of statements? The man is not that stupid! Perhaps, there is some forces/people working against him behind the scene, and he is trying to give them a warning? He got to show that he is in full control.

I strongly believe that Hun Sen can take 2 hours to take over Phnom Penh and destroy whoever oppose is Government because he has done that once already . Remember the coup against Ranarith ? But if you talk about Hun Sen standing up to Viet or Thai who invaded our country ,Hun Sen can't do that because he is only strong against his own people who are poor and powerless. It has been more than a year since the fight broke out between khmer and thai at the border , what has Hun Sen done about it ? He has done nothing because he has no ability to do anything .

    ReplyDelete
  24. Anonymous3:22 AM

Could it be that HUN SEN wasn't saying it directly to his real opponents and directly said it to Ms. Mu Sokchua. I think the end of HUN SEN is near. Every time when something happens he always diverted the attention to only his enemy and scold his other opponents. There could be a possible of CPPs that favor his removal. Like old Khmer says "Koeng Kor Vai Roteh" or "Mad with the oxes then beat the cart".

    Angorian Krama Man .
You most have been blind or on drug that's why you can't see the truth who is causing problems for Cambodian. How can you cause problem if you have no power ? Who has the power between Mu Sochua and Hun Sen ? Hun Sen's court convicted Sam Rainsy for defamation by telling his supporters about ( country for sale ) he saw on GW report even he didn't mention anyname but the same count threw away Mu Sochua's conplaint against Hun Sen for defamation because it said Hun Sen didn't mention anyname on his speech . See the difference there ? And later on Hun Sen turned around suing Mu Sochua for defamation instead.
Angorian Krama Man, read some real news .. don't just believe what you have been told by your CPP .

Band of shit, to rid CPP, it is necessary to ask the assistance of the Chinese, only the Chinese can attack the allied yuons of the CPP.

But there is a price to pay for that. Because the assistance is not free.

Ask Duch all the advice for to do it.

    ACID ATTACK ON TAT MARINA
Cambodian People's Party Hun Sen Khmer Rouge Regime had committed acid attack.
"On December 5, 1999, Tat Marina, age 16, was severely disfigured in an acid attack in Phnom Penh. The attack was allegedly committed by Khun Sophal, the wife of a senior government official, Svay Sitha, because she was angry her husband had a sexual relationship with Tat Marina. Neither Khun Sophal nor those suspected of being her accomplices in the attack were brought to justice. Intense media publicity compelled the Phnom Penh Municipal Court to issue an arrest warrant for Khun Sophal for attempted murder, but the police claimed that they could not locate her, although journalists reported that she was living at home as usual."

TORTURE AND MURDER ON PRAK SITHA WHILE IN CUSTODY BY MISNISTRY OF INTERIOR OFFICIAL
Cambodian People's Party Hun Sen Khmer Rouge Regime had committed torture and murder.
"On the night of January 16, 2003, a street youth named Prak Sitha was beaten to death at the Ministry of Interior (MOI) headquarters after he was arrested and detained by off-duty MOI officers on suspicion of theft. His body - bearing numerous injuries to the head, torso, arms, and legs - was dumped at a Phnom Penh pagoda the following morning by ministry officers, in violation of police regulations regarding deaths in custody. No criminal charges were filed in connection with this death. In December 2004, the case was cited by the UN secretary-general's special representative for human rights in Cambodia - who stated that Prak Sitha died at the ministry "following beatings by a known police officer" - as an example of a "consistent and continuing pattern of impunity" in Cambodia."

Cambodian People's Party Hun Sen Khmer Rouge Regime had committed murder, again.
"On September 4, 2008, Mean Sokchea, a RCAF major working in Brigade 70, shot dead 21-year-old waitress Put Samphors at a restaurant in Kandal province. Mean Sokchea, in a drunken stupor, fired his gun and apparently mistakenly hit Put Samphors in the stomach. She was taken to a hospital but later died of her wounds. Mean Sokchea was detained by the police overnight but was then released, allegedly after intervention by Hing Bun Heang. Put Samphor's family received US$2,700 from Mean Sokchea, and the police told them that their daughter was shot while authorities were chasing robbers."

The trend of calling people "traitor" or neak kbod chiat is very common in a regime that can't tolerate the truth about it's failures and want to keep citizens from voicing dissatisfaction.

These so called traitors who rely on foreign government have not caused any damage more then Hun Sen. Think about this, who relies on foreigner more? Neak na yul borotes pi kroi knong?

Hun Sen's Cambodia Air is 60% Viet owned. Major electricities and telephone and communications service are offered by Vietnam and Thailand. Rivers are damed by Vietnam.

Hun Sen relies on foreigner or not? Oh I forgot, we don't consider Vietnam foreigner anymore right? They're Hun Sen's mother and father, his parents who he should be grateful for for eternity for giving him, a small country boy, a chance to run an entire country.

Name one thing, the patriotic Hun Sen party does that does not involved millions upon millions of dollars of foreign money?
