SRP MP Mu Sochua refused to pay the 16.5 million riels fine imposed on her in the defamation lawsuit case brought up by Hun Xen. According to today’s edition of The Phnom Penh Post, on Thursday, Mrs. Mu Sochua said that she will not pay the fine imposed on her by the Phnom Penh municipal court because she is the victim, not Hun Xen. According to Yim Sovann, SRP spokesman, the SRP supports Mrs. Mu Sochua’s decision to oppose the court verdict. Yim Sovann said that the SRP will stay behind Mrs. Mu Sochua, regardless of whether she decides to pay the fine or not, and that this decision is her right. Yim Sovann indicated that Mrs. Mu Sochua appealed her case already, and that she will not show up to the Appeal court. Yim Sovann also added that Mrs. Mu Sochua said that the Appeal court can sentence her behind closed door because she believes that, whether she shows up to the court for clarification or not, the Appeal court decision will not be different from the one handed down by the Phnom Penh municipal court.
Do what you're supposed to, Mrs Mu. As long as you fight for Khmer people in general, I pray for you.

Do you allow people to abuse or harass your wife, daughter or mother like the way Hun Sen did to Mu Sochua?

Mrs. Mu Sochua has notbeen given a fair trial by the cambodian govt, so why should she pay the fine that was unfairly imposed upon her? What the cambodian govt. is doing is perpetuate a web of injustice that continues to corrupt cambodian justice systm. If the cambodian govt. wants to fulfill the justice for khmer people it must make major changes in its judicial system.

ReplyDeleteShe always said all along that she's not afraid to go to jail rather than pay the fine. She should keep her word and don't pay that fine.

Cambodian courts are clowns of Hun Sen and under the order of Hun Sen. I admire Mu Sochua for standing up against the "Ayorng Court". Khmer people used to submit themselves to their leader even their leaders are wrong. It's about time now we stand for our rights.

I can put my house to bet that Mu Sochua will pay the fine when she had run out of source in appealing her case to Appeal Court and in Supreme Court.

Since you can write and read, I am going to assuming that you are somewhat educated and able to view the world around you. If you are a true Khmer and love Khmer, do you really believe that our people get what they deserved to be labeled among the poorest country in the world? You are among a few to get a warm care not by CPP government, but donation from the international. Without the outside donation, your CPP government would be shut down. My brother, you really need to open up your eyes and look around you one more time because being out of war and with the same leader for almost 30 years we need to be self sufficient not depend on outsie doners. Therefore, just because you and your family are living in peace it doesn't mean it is acceptalbe that our brothers and sisters around you are suffering. Please think it over my beloved brother.

ReplyDeleteWe made $1.00 a day just eat and die. We don't have any tv, karaoke, liquor, computer, internet, toy, bike, car, moto, laptop, running water and etc.
Our toilet would be digging dirt spot by spot for our poop around our shack. We worked sunrise till sunset and 7 a days a week to feed our whole family.
WORK, EAT, SLEEP, AND DIE..........
