Who killed legendary singer Sin Sisamouth?

By Khmerization

Mr. Sin Chanchhaya, son of legendary singer Sin Sisamouth (pictured), said he knew the face and the name of the person who ordered his father killed, reports Khmer Express News.

Sin Sisamouth, legendary singer from the 1960s and 1970s, disappeared without a trace during the Khmer Rouge regime, presumed executed by orders of the Khmer Rouge leaders who ruled Cambodia from 1975-1979. But no one knew who gave the orders.

However, Mr. Sin Chanchhaya recently said that he knew the face and the name of the person who ordered the execution of his father. He said that person is living freely today.

I will support and urge Lok Sin Chanchhaya to find the suspect who ordered his father killed. He should bring case to KR trial and Legal Aid service attention to file complaint and lawsuit.
Lok Sin Sisamouth was not only a Khmer victim but a cultural icon that brought many of us through the period of Khmer revival and wars after French and Viet Cong- Sihanouk rule.

Rest in peace Lok Sin Sisamouth and your spirit lives among many of survivors.

The killer is truly the enemy of all Cambodian. I’m sure this is going to be very interesting, dying to know information. He has to pay back this crime, should be death.

I am a Khmer's DJ in oversea and always trying the Khmmer Music along with internal hitpop for dancing.
I trie to play the music from Cambodia, with our young generation bands most of them are negativ but with our legend (MR Samouth and Ms Sotheat) the club are full and asked who they are?

Ok, we can't hold back our legend but our young generation must do more for international acception.
My favorit today is CHIN WATTANA (we push him more; esp. speed tack), Preap Sawath ist out. For women is mixed, but can not choose.

I encourage Sin Chanchhaya to reveal the face and name of the person/s who ordered his father killed. If he needs help to arrest this murderer there won't be short of people who will volunteer to arrest him.

Sin Sisamouth was not just a singer, he was a legend and an icon.

    His killer/s must be punished.

8:06AM cannot be treated by mrdical means as his metal illness grows this bad. The only means to cure him is to use a base ball bat to hit his head three times but count as one. Repeat this method again and again if once does not cure him.

Mr. Sin Sisamouth is the symbol of Khmer's language. He wasn't just a singer and composer. His voice alone is timeless. Khmer's vocabulary will live forever with his fine vocal. They are The Monument in music performing by this great singer. Please those who in charge of the Khmer Rouge Tribunal find the killer.

We love Sin Sisamuth for his great voice but don't forget his lyrics are a living poetry. We can actually paint the sceneries and the feel the emotions of his songs.

Did he write the songs as well or did he only sing them?

The lyrics and vocabularies in those songs were so rich that I could never stop to admire them.

He wrote 60% of songs he sang. And some songs told his personal love story. I am not a good singer, but I have sung a lot of his songs since the 60's and 70's.

if the report is true, i think khmer people who love sin sisamouth songs should call this person to the court to stand trial and ask this person many question so we can learn more about the fate of sin sisamouth and all other famous singers, actors, etc... i think cambodia need to gather all information so curious people like me can learn more about these famous khmer persons. it's important to do so, i think.

What's the name of the leading male vocalist in Mayura Production? Anyone knows? and why isn't anyone put him to use in Khmer's Film? Instead we hear him speaking for most Thais' actors? Cambodian men across the country and out side should pay attention. Cambodian's language in love compassion charming powerful seductive and most grabbing attention voice of a man, are all his and him alone under his tongue. Not to replace Mr. Sin Sisamouth, of course not, because this man is not a singer, but to hear him talk in Khmer? Can other men move over please? and his leading lady too. She has lovely charming very polite classy and very very feminine voice in an un-pretented way. What could be better than that? Go for it producers!
