5-golden-star General Hun Xen angry to see proposition to remove the army away from his arm's reach

Hun Sen blasts opposition's proposal to put army under king's control

Prime Minister Hun Sen blasted the opposition's proposal to put the national army under the control of the king in place of the current arrangement where all troops are under the tight control of the ruling Cambodian People's Party, reports Kampuchea Thmey.

On 6th March, Son Chhay, MP from the opposition Sam Rainsy Party, floated the idea that the king should be given full control of the army to make the army truly neutral.

Speaking to disabled veterans in Ta Ken Koh Sla commune in Chhouk district of Kampot province on 8th March, Prime Minister Hun Sen blasted such suggestion as ignorant of the role of the king under the constitution.

He accused the opposition of wanting to turn the Cambodian monarchy into a Nepalese monarchy which has been abolished recently, in an apprarent threat to abolish the monarchy shall it not be subservient to him. In the past, Mr. Hun Sen had several times threatened to abolish the Cambodian monarchy whenever the current king Sihamoni or ex-king Sihanouk were reluctant to approve his policies.

The Cambodian constitution stipulates that "the king reigns but shall not rule". However, in a separate article of the same constitution, the king was described a "the commander-in-chief of the armed forces".

The army should not be under the control of any political party, or individuals, this means neither Hun Sen nor the King. It must be independent and swear their allegiance to the nation (Cambodia) not to Hun Sen or the King, or anyone else.

I can see Hun fears for his personal safety. Too many blood in his hands and countless of billions of dollar in illegal assets, he is paranoid.

Who can be more politically neutral in Cambodia then the King? There is no individual that wields so much respect and unity then a symbolic figure such as a King. Turning the army over to the king is a very good suggestion.

It will keep it from being used as personal weapons of political intimidation.

Son Chhay, a opportunist politician wants to put military under King's control likes in Thailand because SRP is hopeless to win the next elections, so SRP is learning from its ally in Bangkok on how to get power likes current Thai government leads by stupid PM Abhisit. However, Cambodia is different from Thailand or elsewhere. Only one way that SRP can get power is through the general election. Any attempting to get power beside winning the election, means SRP pulls the gun and shooting its own foot.

It is totally unconstitutional for an elected Prime Minister to have full control of the army. It is also very illegal for him to wear military uniform as Cambodian constition has recognised Cambodia as a democratic Country. Only with approval of National Assembly, the government can command the army to be ready for warfare with neighbour country.
In democratic country, the Prime Minister cannot even command the police. The police is for the Nation and not for a political party. I fully support Mr Son Chhay suggestion and his suggestion should be supported by every walk of life in Cambodia.

Oh! Ah Khmer Kbort Chheat CBD. Is it Hun Sen not an opportunist politician? Your master, Hun Sen, has won election every term and not because he was elected by the people of Cambodia. But, he elected by fraud and intimidation. He stole the votes every election.

Who is in charge of the Cambodia election committee? The vietcong is in charge. The vietcong agent dresses and speak Khmer fluently and embed with Hun Sen government nowaday.

So Hun Sen will shoot the gun on his foot because one day he will fall from power. When the time comes, you will see my friend.

Nonething is last forever. Look at history, asshole, such as Hitler, Mossalini of Italy, Bosnian leaders, Sadam Hun Sen of Iraq, and so on. Do you think your asshole, Hun Sen, will last forever. Don't dream, Ah Pleur.

Yes, it's a good idea of Son Chhay, because Cambodia now is control by one party and the Government have no independent include all authorities.
For the future Hun Sen will go as Burma way so Hun Sen want to control all armies by himself.

i think if that arrangement is beneficial to the khmer nation, then i will support it. however, if it does not benefit the nation, then why bother? the monarchy is symbolic only, otherwise, we are back in square one again. we want embraces changes to cambodia for the better. plus, there ought to be a law of royal succession, not fighting like during the dark age era. also, it shouldn't be just sam rainsy's demand, the entire nation has to be consulted first. if sam rainsy is so demanding, then maybe he is the dictator himself as he thinks he can just do whatever he feel like doing to cambodia. that's not the case in a better cambodia, really!

Cambodian should feel very shamefull for having a group of leaders who are acting like idiots. They are only good in working with animals and are not good to serve a civilised Nation.
As educated person, we cannot condonne their shameless act against their own people and destroy their own country by leasing them to foreign government their citizen lands for a lease of 99 years. They must educated enough to understand the rule of democracy and the right of their citizen. Only intellctual handicape people would support these idiots to be their leaders.

There are very kind of machine operators.
-Pilots flying Airbus 380, boeing 787, giant cruise ships are also machine operators.
-Drivers of bullet speed trains are also machine operators.
Indeed machine operators need more education and more skills to work with modern and sophicated machine and they are very employable and earn high living and respect than unemployed student who is kissing animal dungs.
