A high-ranking general revealed that, at least 4 generals were proposed by Hun Xen to the King to be promoted to the rank of 4-golden-star generals, as well as promoting the rank of a number of other generals.
A source among the RCAF generals revealed that the four generals proposed for promotion to the rank of 4-golden-star general are: Chea Dara, Sao Sokha, Hing Bun Heang and Nhek Huon. Currently, the four generals are RCAF deputy-Commander-in-Chief. Sao Sokha is also the commander in chief of the Military Police for the entire country, Hing Bun Heang is the commander of Hun Xen’s private bodyguard unit, and Chea Dara is the commander in chief in charge of the Preah Vihear frontline. In addition to the proposal for the promotion of the 4 generals above, a number of 1 and2-star generals was proposed for promotion as well. A reliable source claimed that the promotion proposal made by Hun Xen was already sent to the king who is expected to approve them soon.

ReplyDeleteNow you know why Hun Sen wants more military spending. It is not so that he can buy proper uniforms, replace soldiers' flip flops with military boots, replace Soviet-era weapons or feed them properly,...it is so that these generals can get higher salaries.

Of course,Vietnam knows the soft spot of arrogant cambodians that they can be really high in social classes, but out of touch with realities.It reminds me for all those who promoted themselves to higher rankings before being killed by khmer rouge in 1975.
Is another cycle of killing coming again?.And when will we learn from our history?

I agree! with post 1:35PM 100%! all illegal business were involved with high ranking RCAF family, illegally logging, lands grabbing and many illegal business in Cambodia...they used RCAF as their shield to do illegal business...

ReplyDeleteHun Sen has forgotten that Cambodia is being watched by international communities to comply with international communities demanded for a total civilian regime with Multi-parties parliament and with democracy system where all politicians must renounce their former public position first before accepting as candidate for any poltical party. That present, they have demonstrated that they have acted against National Constitution. They are creating instability in the South East Asia.

Oh ho about Hun Sen even Mr. Chak Leng the Bunrany's uncle he call him ah too. I remember about 2003 or 2004 at Svay Rieng province Hun Sen call Hun Neng his brother Ah in front of much people. It mean Hun Sen is a Prime Minister who have no moral.

I'm certain that Ah Gen. Bun Heang will be proud for his additional stars ( from Lt. Gen. to General)on his shoulders, since he will be serving the Indonesian Presidential Guards in Indonesia. Yes, now, he sold his soul to foreign country. Also, after he accepted the position, Ah Hun Sen needs to promote Ah Heang, again, from Lt. Gen. to general.
