Subject: Alleged lese-majesty insults from alleged CPP consul general in Lowell
Dear Your Excellency,
An anonymous reader of KI-Media claiming to be H.E. Ou Sovann, the Honorary Consulate General of Cambodia in Lowell, Massachusetts, wrote the following about King-Father Norodom Sihanouk:
To clear up the good name of H.E. Ou Sovann, we urge the Cambodian ministry of Foreign Affairs to immediately investigate this case. If indeed the author of the claim turns out to be H.E. Ou Sovann, he should immediately be repudiated by the CPP for otherwise, all Cambodians will believe that the CPP is a de-facto pro-communist republican party disguised as a royalist party. In case of lese-majesty, we humbly propose that the CPP recalls this renegade consul general back to Cambodia and sends him immediately to the Prey Sar jail without listening to any of his or his lawyer’s pleas– just like what the government always does when it sued opposition activists of the likes of Sam Rainsy etc…
On the other hand, considering the fact that the alleged H.E. Ou Sovann profusely praises Samdach Akkok Maha Sena Bat Dey Dek Cho Hun Xen as being a “Varman” and a “Thevada” (an angel on the devilish earth?), we also urge that his sentence be reduced in consideration of his buttering up of our Dear Strongman. In that case, we humbly propose to the CPP to use the pillory (see photo below) to punish this alleged renegade, just like what the early American settlers did in the olden days in New England. Furthermore, such pillory display of a Cambodian official would also be quite beneficial for Cambodian businesses in Lowell as well, as it will attract many sightseers and tourists to the area.

I hated this man to the bone since I learnt to talk and walk...If indeed the author of this message is H.E. Ou Sovann, we would be extremely surprised to see such negative reaction from a CPP official because the former monarch is protected by Cambodian law which forbids any such attack against his august person, least of all from a CPP government official (but we also recalled that even Your Excellency personally sued His Majesty in France also, did you not?). Such open criticism of the former monarch is tantamount to lese-majesy and should be punished by law.
Sihanouk is/was cold bloodthirster and power Hunger. Khmer rate him as King Killer of Kampuchea!
I Thanks and regret the Vietnamese volunteers army, Samdech Akkak Maha Sena Padei Decho Hun Sen Varman, whose my Creator, Mentor and Savior of Kampuchea and Kampuchean to come and liberated us from Sihanouk/Pol Pot khmer rouge regime on 7, Jan. 1979.
We, kampuchean should call Samdech Akkak Maha Sena Padei Decho Hun Sen Varman, is the THEVADA Hun Sen.

ReplyDeleteAs a Cambodian-American, I would like to defend on the behalf of Mr. Ou Sovann. I know this man for months, and I don't believe he would write such a comment. He's an honest man and the Cambodian community in Lowell, MA is thrilled to have Mr. Ou as their consul.

KI (Khmer Intelligent), where is your Intelligent? First, will Hor 5 Hong care about this individual? Second, the comment posted as an Anoymous, so someone else can pretend to be Ou Sovann. Third, you have to prove that if the IP address from the posted comment is from Ou Sovann's PC. Is it his home PC, work PC, or other... can you prove it?
We must be aware that foreigners, the enemies in particular, are capable of producing thorns or even quarrels and hatred among Khmers. Beware of these hidden enemies behind the internet. Thank you.

ReplyDeletealthorough this method of punishment, if exists at all, is so outdated and non-existent, for non capital punish, they should re-introduce this method to set example for all kind of crimes, not to kill, but to show as an example enduring to long hours like standard on one foot or soap washed into the mouth, etc...!

ReplyDeleteThe Royal Honorary Consulate General of Cambodia to the United States, Lowell, Massachusetts found groundless the publication of KI-Media of an anonymous coward reader claiming to be H.E. Ou Sovann, Honorary Consul General “ Open Letter to Mr. Hor Namhong, Minister of Foreign Affairs, March 17, 2010” insulting the King-Father aiming to damage the reputation and try to discredit the CPP’s official and its leaders.
Reacting to the allegation, the Honorary Consul General, Mr. Ou Sovann accuses the KI-Media’s report of being totally dishonest, manipulated and potentially defamatory, bias to the smear campaign of the opposition party. Mr. Ou Sovann strongly reaffirms his full respect to the code and ethic of Cambodian Government Official, and especially the constitution of Cambodia must be protected.
Again and again, the Honorary Consulate General of Cambodia is urging KI-Media to clarify publicly the unjust information in order to protect his personal rights, save his prestige and to balance reports with professional journalism.

Why? HOR NAMHONG trust this GUY OU SOVANN, He move from SAM RANSEY party to RANARITH, now he move to CPP for corrutioned from cambodia-American in LOWELL. This guy he may get permanent resident thoug ASYLEE. because he actived for opposition party (SAM RANSEY). Why now Hor Namhong appointed him. Many CPP supporter since 1990 they wish Cambodia have a real peace.
