Thai PM: Won't Dissolve Parliament As Demanded By Protesters

BANGKOK -(Dow Jones)- Thai Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva said Monday that he won't dissolve parliament and call new elections as demanded by protesters loyal to fugitive ex-premier Thaksin Shinawatra.

In a live national television address, Abhisit said his government--in power since December 2008--was established democratically.

His comments come as tens of thousands of so-called red-shirt protesters head to an army barracks where Abhisit has been based over the weekend. They have given him a deadline of noon today to dissolve parliament.

Thai government must stand tough with Red shirt Thaksin supporters and don't dissolve Parliament. If necessary, using yellow shirt to attack them. SRP and all SRP supporters strongely support current Thai government and yellow shirt all the way.
