Cambodia's Geography - a book in Khmer by Sakou Samoth

On the occasion of the Khmer New Year, Year of the Tiger, Buddhist era 2554, the Angkor Wat magazine is greeting you with our best wishes.

May the New Year bring you happiness, health and prosperity. We also have the pleasure to present to you a book in Khmer titled “Cambodia’s Geography” which includes color maps and photos of Cambodia.

The current book, which is based on an earlier version of “Cambodia’s Geography” which was used as a high school textbook in Cambodia in the 70s, includes 8 chapters as follows:

1- Physical geography of Cambodia
2- Cambodia's climate
3- Cambodia’s natural resources
4- Political and administrative organization of Cambodia following the 1993 Constitution. Following the 22 December 2008 Royal Decree, Cambodia now counts 23 provinces and only one municipality (Phnom Penh).

  • 2008 Census
6- General elections in Cambodia: 1998, 2003, 2008

    It is strange! I saw Koh Trol defined inside cambodian territory even during Heng Samrin era 1982. But now Koh trol is officially Vietnam. How can the gov't explain about that? They just let go like that?

    Correction please: To the south east of Cambodia it is NOT Vietnam, but it is KAMPUCHEA KROM please. Make sure it is spelled correctly when posting next time around please. Thank you please.

    Can't image Cambodia has became such a small land, where is my Khmer empire? Khmer Surin and Khmer Krom, koh tral. LOL, pathetic Khmer. See you in Thailand bay in the next decade.

    i think all khmer people ought to study and know all about our geography, e.g. the provinces, the borderlines, the geographical features like tonle sap great lake, the mighty mekong river, khmer mountains, rivers, waters, sea coasts, islands, etc, etc... i mean know the area square miles or square kilometers, the villages, the cities, etc in details. this way, we have more interest in our country and proud of it. we should know it like we know history, really! god bless cambodia.
