Seventeen out of a total 26 markers have been planted along the 240-km border between Vietnam’s Binh Phuoc province and the three Cambodian provinces of Mondulkiri, Kratie and Kampong Cham.
According to a Government plan, Binh Phuoc province will plant 26 border markers along the common border with Cambodia, including an A marker at Hoa Lu international border gate.
The existing land markers have been inspected and are being maintained by the Binh Phuoc provincial Border Guard Command.

You see everyone who know the world geopolitics knew that the Vietnamese are the cruel people on the planet who killed the Khmers called "De racine" means killed the Khmers from the root. As a matter of facts the cruel Vietnamese did s well by playing De racine strategies since 1900's and all the blame went to Pol Pot and King Sihanouk. The facts was the cruel Vietnamese did all and clean. Unlike the "Tae Ong" the Vietnamese directly killed the Khmers, this time they indirectly killed Khmers.
While the cruel Vietnamese continue to invade the Kingdom, many Vietnamese leaders suggested "we keep running and running, how long can we save our land? Why not just let Vietnam be China's province now or will be later that we will be no longer stop anyway?"
Based on the L'offensive Navale the la Chine" Vietnam is too small and is inside China's hemisphere, it has no other alternative to escape. Some Vietnamese communists think Ho Chi Minh is their hero, may be he is China's hero for uniting south and north to be one for a One China.
In some blog China claims that South and Koh Trol now Phu Qoc were belonged to China tracing back to thousand years ago before the Khmer empire was created.
The Khmer Krom people are an oppressed, subjugated minority, so any Cambodian land mass annexed by Vietnam would not benefit them.
ReplyDeleteKhmer Krom people are among the poorest economically and are one of the most politically marginalised groups in Vietnam today.
There have been known instances of Khmer Krom people's farm lands being seized by Vietnamese authorities without proper consultation or compensation, much like what their brethren in Cambodia today have been subjected to vis a vis Vietnam's surrogate authority there.
The notion that the other side of the border is inhabited by the Khmer Krom and therefore any shift in border marking is immaterial because Khmer interest will not be harmed either way is a form of malicious and disingenuous propaganda calculated to induce complacency on the part of the Khmer nation and people.
The opposition parties should continue to lodge their demand for the entire land/sea border demarcation process to be made transparent in view of the dubious relationship between Phnom Penh and Hanoi by way of co-opting independent third party involvement in the verification procedure itself, including international technical observers and other interested civil groups.
The fact that these border markers are planted in secrecy and local villagers are physically barred by a distance of 1 kilometre or so from the actual demarcation spots by local police is indicative of a fishy agenda in haste to be fulfilled before public attention is aroused.
It is thus vital that opposition and relevant groups clarify their stand on the demarcation process and register their displeasures, objections and proposals etc. with relevant national and international bodies so that future Cambodian administrations politically independent of Vietnam asking for a review of any contested areas along the border will have some record of historical, contemporaneous responses/complaints to fall back on as points of reference.

That is not the problem of Khmer Krom or not that border us. I know they are Khmer and should not control under the YUON but the territories now are under the control of Hanoi. So they kept encroaching into our lands.

ReplyDeleteHere is why I ask who on the other side of the border:
1. In a normal situation, the border line need to be dranwed on the property line, the current owner of the land. If the land belong to the Gov. then the line will be dranwed base on the map.
2. There were no border mark in the past 50 years or so because of the war and the people who live there have been using the land without proper paper for a long time because there is no need for it.
3. I wander if the location of the mark was persuated by the Kmere Krom to Viet Nam authority so they can benefit from it. I don't know.

ReplyDeleteIn my opinion please don't teach Cambodian to be racist or hate the Vietnamese. But we need to tell all Cambodian in the country to stand up and remove a HUN SEN regime from power. I believe in the power of the peoples. That's the only way to teach Cambodian leadership from dictatorship. We can not afford many more years to have HUN SEN run the corruption government. Please rise up all Khmers.

ReplyDeleteyou act like Khmer Krom are administrators and authority figures in Vietnam. Policy makers and planner. Making suggestions and recommendations and pointing to decisons at will when in fact Khmer Krom are not at all part of decision making process - not even when our own farmlands are being confiscated.
Why would we ask Vietnam government to take more land from what remain of our beloved homeland? Don't make us for stupid people. We maybe subjected and silence, but we're not that naive!
