A lawmaker for the opposition Sam Rainsy Party (SRP) said Monday that the party plans to screen the documentary Who Kill Chea Vichea? soon after its run at the Cannes International Film Festival in France concludes this month. Mu Sochua said a screening would be held at party headquarters at the end of the month, despite government warnings not to show it, and called on government officials to attend. “It will be screened soon. However, we must screen it at party headquarters. At the end of the film festival, they will give the film to us, and then we will screen this film,” she said. “Now let the government and the public come and watch the film with us together.” The government prevented activists from showing the film in public as part of Labour Day demonstrations on May 1. Tith Sothea, spokesman for the Press and Quick Reaction Unit at the Council Ministers, said on Monday that Mu Sochua’s invitation was evidence that the SRP was “mocking the government”. “The SRP should not call on [the government] to watch this film. It is just mocking the government, which says that the film is illegal,” he said.

people are just trying to express their freedom of the press, why gov't want to sensor that? someone should pose a democratic question to these gov't official to see what kind of answer they give for their sensorship, etc? i'm just curious to hear what they have to say or what kind of answer they will give. in cambodian politics, one has to hear from both sides of the view point, before we all jump to a wrong conclusion, really!

it probably takes two to tango, you know! bias on anyone's view point is not right, yes, you have to hear both sides of the story to understand why people did what they did!

    Mr Tith Sothea

It´s regrettable that an educated man like you reacted like a coward over this documentary film.
I don´t blame you because you are paid to do this dirty Jób.

What is wrong with this guy Tith Sothea, spokesman for the government? He accuses Mu Sochua’s invitation to see the film as “mocking the government”. Does Tith Sothea already know what the film is all about? Should the government want to find out who kill Chea Vechea? Is the CPP prohibiting the public to see the evidence? Base on the lack of investigation about Chea Vechea’s killer from the CPP lead government, I would suspect with confidence that Hun Sen and his thugs are the killer of Chea Vechea.

The truth does not need the protection of the government, but the lie demands it.

Cambodia is no democrazy, it is just a royalistic masked dictatorship.

The current Cambodian government is SICK. It's not make sense to sensor the film ( Who Kill Chea Vichea ). Well Hun Sen's regime MUST go and Cambodian need a new real democratic leadership NOT a dictatorship like HUN SEN. A government of Cambodian likely behind this assassination if they banned showing the documentary.

Look at disgraced Mu Sochua's picture. She's screaming like her white man (Scott) has bended her over on the bed. Whenever Mu Sochua has showed stunt in public, she always uses her skill on the bed to inspire her.
