Ky Tech, Hun Xen’s lawyer, indicated on 08 June that, this week, he will push the Supreme Court to issue soon a final decision so that Mrs. Mu Sochua pays her fine following the court decision to let Hun Xen win recently.
Ky Tech said that Mrs. Mu Sochua must pay after the court issues its final decision, otherwise she could face arrest and sent to jail for 6 months.
Ky Tech parroted: “Chumteav Mu Sochua was at fault, and the court fined her. Therefore, in this case, Chumteav Mu Sochua must follow the law and the court decision. If she does not pay [her fine] then the judge must take a second step, i.e. enforce the law, then Chumteav Mu Sochua could face being sent to jail.”
Recently, the Supreme Court upheld the decision issued by the Phnom Penh municipal court and the Appeal Court, saying that the sentence was appropriate. The lower court ordered Mrs. Mu Sochua, the most famous woman-politician in the opposition Sam Rainsy Party, to pay a fine of 16.5 million riels (~$4,100) after Hun Xen accused her of defaming him.
Mrs. Mu Sochua confirmed to RFA on 08 June that she will not pay the fine because she is not at fault and that she is ready to go to jail if she will be arrested.
Mrs. Mu Sochua indicated that she will raise the issue of the justice system to Surya Subedi, the UN Human Rights Special Envoy for Cambodia, during his visit to Cambodia.

ReplyDeleteMr. Hun Sen's lawyer, Ky Tech, under any circumstances has no rights to push or force the court of justice to make its decisions on any case. If Ky Tech did that, he has interfere and violated the Cambodia constitutional judicial system.

Disgrace Mu Sochua’s problem all along, is that she is trying to be a politician. She's not, never has been and quite obviously, never will be. She should have just been herself, provide alternative policies and show Khmer people what a great alternative MP opposition she would be. Instead, her foray into being a politician has been a disaster. She comes across as pretending to be something she's not. Now, her political career is on the line and herself also in the hot water.
ReplyDeleteWhile the nation is facing complex economic, social and environmental issues disgrace Mu Sochua tried to promote her political stunt, aimed to get media attention. If this wasn’t such a clear demonstration of her selfish pursuit of personal ambition it would be laughable. There is no doubt that Mu Sochua has no real regard for the best interest of the nation. She is driven solely by a desire to become a “Champion of Women or a new Aung San Suu Kyi” by any means available to her, even if that has the potential to destabilize the country. Even worse, she is attempted to make trouble after she lose her case in the Supreme Court against Prime Minister Hun Sen. Will she happy going to jail or pay the fine, everyone can bet for it.
People of integrity admit their faults, make amends and are judged fairly...Disgrace Mu Sochua is lacking in integrity and common sense and tries to change Cambodia into her own world. As long as Cambodia’s Court doesn’t issue any verdict which is fitted for her political stunt, she will screaming for the justice all day long.

Most khmer oversea condemn this act of unfair trial and judgmental. This is to show that the supper power always win regardless, it is like " I am big and you are small, I am right and you are wrong and there is nothing you can do about it". or "How dare you, if you dare you lose". Hun Sen has an act of evil just like Pot Pot or the stupid who killed million of khmers. It looks like he is another copy cater. Therefore, khmer people should be smarter by now, don't let history repeat itself or else, we will never grow. All khmer people and armies must joint hand in hand and prepare to wipe Hun Sen and his family out of this nation for good. Once this is done, we can replace the new leaders that deserve to rule khmer and they will be one of the educated people from the west. Some of these educated people are those the children of our past heroes whom had been killed or in exiled due to power abuse upon them. I prayed to God to help Hun Sen to rule into the right direction but it seems like evil has great power over him by not doing good. So, I now ask God to help eliminate Hun Sen instead because nothing good has been done.May the power of god the true God helps us and guides us into the right direction. Come on people with stick and stones or armies with guns, together we will win within 24 hours and will replace the leaders from the west ASAP. If khmer people don't act now it will be too late, by then our neighbour will consume all of our land and will wipe all of our people away from this planet earth, just like Chinese is doing to khmer Pol Pot or the Nguru people. ReplyDeleteKy Tech went to the "Lawyers School" which was a shortened course to create lawyers since there were so very few at that time. He served a president of the Bar Council and during his tenure, the PM and other top officials were allowed to be members of the Bar.
