“We have no plan to issue a statement on the prevention [to our visit] because we issued so many statements to the National Assembly and the government, as well as reporting to the king, but they are useless” – SRP MP Yim SovannFollowing the many obstacles and problems set by CPP thugs and local CPP officials during their visit to border locations, SRP MPs are planning new visit to the eastern border areas where it is suspected that Cambodian territories were lost to the Yuon. However, this time, the SRP MPs will not inform the National Assembly nor the government in advance about their visit.
Yim Sovann, MP and spokesman for the Sam Rainsy Party – the largest opposition party in Cambodia , told reporters that: “We, as MPs, swore to dedicate our lives to defend our territorial integrity, we are not scared. Now, we can see that problem is occurring at border post no. 270, and in the next few days, we will visit other areas. We will not tell the National Assembly or the government [about our visit].”
The SRP was prevented from investigating border areas where border post planting caused problems, both in Chantrea district, Svay Rieng province, and in Borey Chulsa district, Takeo province. The latter visit took place on 03 June 2010.
Yim Sovann indicated that: “We have no plan to issue a statement on the prevention [to our visit] because we issued so many statements to the National Assembly and the government, as well as reporting to the king, but they are useless.”
Yim Sovann added that the planting of the more than 300 border posts along the eastern border is suspicious, and if the opposition wins the election, it will revisit all these border posts.”

Hun Sen needs to stop using and abusing his power. He needs to give people the power to have a say and how to rule the nation because good leaders are those who listened to their people, like a good father who listened to their children about what their want and needs are and delivered accordingly. Otherwise you just one of the millions so smart who always see everyone else is wrong but yourself don't even know the right. I am young and I am not interest in politic but I can also say what you said. I don't understand why everybody think they so smart but never have action to proove it.

ReplyDeleteI often see people who always seeing others wrong but themselves don’t have the ability to show what is right. As I mention previously, I am not a politician nor is it my field of study. I am supporting SRP because of the ongoing unethical human rights violation in Cambodia.
Being older does not necessary better. I have seen younger people have higher education, critical thinking, vision, experiences, dignity and integrity then some elder. Therefore, we should judge each person individually not by age group. After exploring my own experiences with youth, I believe that there are two primary elements missing: first, an understanding of the complexity and depth of young people today, and second, the capability of individuals and organizations to engage young people in meaningful learning.
Young people must take the lead. By coupling their growing awareness with a particular sense of urgency, many young activists in Cambodia today are waiting for adults to lead them forward in action.
Diversity is central to taking action. Young people of the villager and low-income young people need to speaking out for themselves and their neighborhoods, encouraging their younger sisters and brothers to do the same, and representing their elders and communities with respect and dignity.
Not only is youth voice important to the future of learning – it is important to the future of our world.

According to your ideology although the adult “Hun Sen” is selling our motherland to Vietnam and told us to mind our own business; therefore we shouldn’t try do anything although that adult is absolutely wrong. What if Hun Sen seeing white paper as black while the international community seeing that same white paper as white? Should we young Cambodian people also agree with Hun Sen?
Anyway, let me keep this short before it get longer. In my opinion, a good individual should steadfastly try to be ethical, to do the “Right Thing”, or to make appropriate ethical decisions. Ethics has very little to do with political beliefs, or public opinion. Ethical behavior is a very personal matter, which requires that a person be honest and truthful in all social dealings. People should treat others in an honest and fair way by knowing the difference between right or wrong and choosing what is right, this is the foundation of ethical decision making. Good ethics is important in all aspects of life because it is the vital part and the foundation on which the society is build. Success without honor is an unseasoned dish. It will satisfy your hunger, but won’t taste good.
