Golden memories . . .

Traditional Khmer Song "EH"

Khmer Oldies - Piphal Meas Bong
NB: Many thanks to the reader who pointed out Theth Sambath. His vocal -  like that of Eng Nary - is so good [at least for me] it could be mistaken for Sinn Sisamouth's. I feel embarrassed and humbled that these singers and their names had somehow escaped me until now . . . after all these years of listening to songs from that golden era of music! - School of Vice.

In Cambodia, I don't care who are the best singers, all I knew that no ONE can overthrow the Emperor Sin Sisamuth.

I have to agree with both of you above. I have been seeking for 30 years, and no one that even come just close to him. But this doesn't mean that we will never going to find one in the future. Hopefully, we will in a unique way but as good as he is.

    I worship Lok Sin Sisamouth.
Each time I listen to his songs, I have different imaginations from those same songs. The meanings are so deep that I can't describe.

    Hi,

The singer who can sing as close as and after Sin Sisamouth is Sous Song Veaja.
The number three would be Eng Nary.

The Emperor Sin Sisamuth was crowned and his crown will stay for ever. I just found out that the Musi industries mainly in Japan has all his records. They make so much money from those songs they preserved.

      To 2:29 PM,

We all love Sin Sisamouth, but he is no longer with us.
Eng Nary was also pretty good, but he too had passed away.
The only singer alive who can sing as close as Sin Sisamouth is Sous Song Veacha.
I do agree with you, Veacha needs voice training.
Nevertheless, we should tresure our Khmer music and support our singers.
Make suggestions for improvement to them, if necessary.

Not easy to be born as Khmer people, because we Khmer always wanted to be the perfect people like the Monument of Angkor Wat.

I don't understand what you meant by "...perfect people like the Monument of Angkor Wat?"
Our ancient Hindu Temple was built by our Hindu King, King Suryavaraman II. It was merely perfect until it was later the Hindu Temple was abused by the new belief "Buddhism" after late 13th century. How can it be perfect?

  14. Dear Reader @ 2:32 PM,

I would suggest you download this free DVD/Video to MP3 converter/editor onto your PC and then just use it to convert any Youtube song into MP3 music.

    Here's the link for download:
    http://www.dvdvideosoft.com/

It seems quite straightforward; just follow the simple instructions to complete the process. After all, if School of Vice can do this, then anyone can!

    Good luck.

    ...........

    Dear Reader @ 11:39 AM,

I appreciate the point you raise here, and I have been facing with similar technical issues opening the Home Page and particularly with posting in general. Perhaps, our friend Mr Heng Soy owns a super PC or something? Seriously, I suspect the slow uploading/ downloading or opening time many experience may have something to do with the large volume of posted materials this website has accumulated over the years.

As for 'dated posts' you should use the blog's archive counter next to the visitors count monitor to find particular posts within any month period, I think!

Hope this helps somewhat, and thank you for frequenting KI Media.

    Take care,

    11:39AM,6:15PM,

I'm not a computer geek guy but I believe there's some thing to to with the program and software that you running.

I have two computers at my work place, the older one has the same problem which you two described and it can't even read any Khmer fonts.

My new laptop at home doesn't have any problem at all.

      Noy Vanneth is good too.
His style is excellent, but his voice sounds at times like women's voice.
Male singers should have deep baretone voice to start with. Then an extensive voice training follows. Next, practice, practice !!!
And then, the rest is history.

1:02 AM Because noy vanneth is good to your ear only! none of the new singers have good natural voice!(it's natural tone that you got to be born with it)like master Sinn Sisamouth and Eung nary or thet sambath

      8:06 AM,

Neither your personal ranking or mine is important, the ranking by the general public surely is.
I still insist that the No 2 ranking belongs to Sous Song Veacha. Eventhoug, he needs voice training.
Hence, you can disagree all you want.

Let the general public decide, shall we ?

It sounds like YOU and " your friends " have a poor taste !!!
      But that's your business.
One other way to gauge the rankings is to go by the volume of sales of DVDs, VCDs and CDs.
After those of Sin Sisamouth, those of Sous Song Veaha are next.

as your opinion but I think all the new singers nowadays are not natural voice.
their voice were edited and synchronized
cutting bad voices by the new technologies
