Sihanouk was a puppet in the cold war between the americans and the communist china . He is only a human being with his narcism and hatred of Lon Nol. He came to believe himself as a semi_god.He was used by the chinese to overthrow the Lon Nol regime. When the vietnamese invaded cambodia, it was the chinese and americans who funded the khmer rouge. To me the guilty ones are the americans and the chinese who spawned the war and the genocidal khmer rouge. Today we have an ex khmer rouge as PM with help from china and vietnam.The consequences will be felt for generations to come.ask the americans and the chinese for financial reparations to rebuild cambodia. America must exert more pressure on hun sen for human rights. Don't blame solely the puppets.The real murderers are pol pot , nixon and chou en lai.

Even though I don't speak French, but after watching this documentary and evaluating what our people, leaders, and country went through, I could not help but cry and cry. Just like when I was writing my book called The Immortal Seeds: Life goes on for a Khmer family, I cry because we let our naivety, ego, anger, and revenge dominate our will to do the right things for our fellow Khmer and our motherland: show mutual respect for each other's life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness; promote education for all Khmers, regardless of political and class levels; and protect the country's sovereignty. Our individual or personal interests weaken us, causing outsiders to take advantage of us.
At the end, outsiders perceive us and treat us according to how we treat each other. Whatever injustices they have committed against us, they will not take accountability for them, because they saw the way we treated each other. Moreover, they solely lay the blame on us for the demises of our people and motherland.
I hope we treat each other with Pruhm Vihear Thor and work together professionally and diplomatically, without killing each other, to advance each other's life and Cambodia.
Sambath, I agree that greed or power might have led these KR leaders to act the way they did in the decades that king sihanouk governed cambodia. what do we learn from watching these videos? the vidoes tells us how khmer leaders in the past were torn apart by hatred amongst khmer people and they in turn sought support from other countries to arm their revolutionary forces. For example, the khmer rouge received weapon from china and cpp got theirs from soviet. then they fought each other, killing their own khmers.
