PHNOM PENH, Mar. 23, 2010 (Kyodo News International) -- Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen will visit Thailand next month to attend a summit meeting of countries in the Mekong river estuary, the Cambodian Foreign Ministry said Tuesday.
It will be Hun Sen's first visit this year to the neighboring country, which has been locked in a border dispute with Cambodia.
A statement released by the Cambodian Foreign Ministry said Hun Sen will be in Thailand for the First Mekong River Commission Summit, to be held in Prachaupkhirikhan.
Hun Sen's delegation will include Foreign Minister Hor Namhong, Commerce Minister Cham Prasidh and ministers of the environment, agriculture and water resources.
Hun Sen visited Thailand last October for a summit meeting of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations.
The border dispute between the two countries broke out in 2008 after Cambodia's Preah Vihear Temple was registered as a World Heritage Site.
The two countries have faced sporadic military clashes in the border area with relatively minor casualties on both sides.
