Journalists, observers and all interested persons are invited to attend the following press conference:
TOPICS: Practical demonstration based on state-of-the-art technology (Geographic Information System) showing that Sam Rainsy was right in his analysis of the border situation.
A concrete experiment will be conducted using a GPS device and a relevant computer program. Through a practical example, the experiment will show the accuracy of measurements made by Sam Rainsy in his two reports available at http://tinyurl.com/yeaoxyf and at http://tinyurl.com/ykbq57f .

But I find him difficult to win for next election and all Cambodia interest will be disappeared.

It is not Viets faults for encroachihng on our land, it is all about secret deal between the two leaders, e.g. when Viet came to liberate khmers from Pol Pot, what are the agreement between two countries? no one is doing something for nothing. Everything comes with a catch?...So,if khmer wants to blame, blame it on the top leaders like, king, Heng Surin, Hun Sen and Pol Pot etc. Usually when we want to do something we have to cast a vote from people first but unfornately from a lawless country, they used and abused their power by believing that they are doing is the right thing. The posting up of the border post photos are so very definitive and conclusive indeed. The only conclusion that can be drawn is simple to accept the fact that encroachment is made by the Vietnamese. These photos speak volumes about the ever constantly westward bound land encroachment, grabbing and settlement by Vietnamese farmers from the Original Demarcation geographical boundary line. It had to believe that these satellite images are being doctored with the purpose of distorting realities on the ground.
ReplyDeleteMr. Sam Ransy provides proof from images taken from satellite, where as writing by Rev Dr. Hok Savann (http://www.hoksavann.org/articles/2010/ABN-1344.pdf) provides reality from the ground up. Without mincing words, the Reverend provides clear picture of land grabbing by Vietnamese farmers, and the Cambodian authorities, namely the local Court, local Police and local General Border Committee tried their best to suppress the brutality of fact on the ground zero. I am sure reports, surveys and researches conducted by domestic Cambodian credible, independent and neutral NGOs surely going to collaborate the Revenge finding.
What can be done? What is the next step to be taken? The entire Cambodian people has every right to know exactly what is the situation and what is the latest development of the current status of border resolution between Cambodia and Vietnam. Therefore, it is natural for the current Cambodian General Border Committee members to issue a sort of “white paper” to provide official explaination to Cambodian people complete and comprehensive development of the border status with Vietnam. It is their institutional and constitutional responsibility to update latest border report to the Cambodian Parliament.
It is duty bound for the Cambodian Judiciary as well as the National Royal Police to publish their latest report on legal cases involving people complaint of their land properties ownership being stripped and their rightful land being denied by local Cambodian authorities. These folk’s complaints should be well investigated and documented by Cambodian Human Rights NGOs. Their documentations are crucially important because their human rights are being violated. Their human rights have be righted and so doing their lands be given back by the government.
The Cambodian people would like to know how far current government of Cambodia has the political clarity at the implementation level in tackling and concretizing the issue of land encroachment, land grabbing and settlement by Vietnamese farmers. To better coordinate this matter there should be a high powered team at the inter-ministerial level and downward like at inter agency coordination to support Cambodian farmers fighting off their cases. Cambodian people have to know all these development. What the people want to see and to make sure is that there is no such thing as governmental absenteeism in such as the critical of their land ownership at the border line.
The Cambodian society love to know how far border resolution has been taken higher up to the world stage by their government. In other words they really appreciate that their government practice political transparency.
