To the anonymous who described the Author as a SRP supporter who's frustrated about life living in the U.S. Well, at least he's not one of those supporters of a dictator who like to kidnap, intimidate, and/or murder opposition members. To the ignorants, many Khmer kids who were brought to the U.S. were placed in crime infested cities where they were bullied to join gangs. Many Khmer parents also did good by moving out those places to find a suitable environment to raise their children.
Some children are late bloomer and the parent has to say something to make them serious about life, making money and start a family! No parent wants to say such bad words to their children only after repeat failure! Get a job or do something!
It is true for some parents who misunderstood the level of social and peers pressure on their kids at school or at playground.

Kids take the easy paths while parents remained in bottle and preoccupied with poker games.
