Stray [Cambodian] Monks Begging a Long Way from Home

01 Feb 2012
Pattayta People

As Pattaya police officers were out on patrol in the early hours of Sunday morning, they came across two monks walking along Beach Road, begging for alms and money from passing tourists. As 4am is a forbidden time for monks to be seen outside of temples, police approached them and requested their monkhood registration books. At first they refused, but when handed over, officers discovered that the monks were a long way from their home temple; in fact they were Cambodians and their visas had expired on the 19th January. The two men in their 30s were taken to the police station for legal proceedings and then sent back to Cambodia.

it goes to show that siem people are biased and racist against khmer. i'm sure these khmer monks were thinking that siem country and people have the same religion and khmer heritage like khmer of cambodia, that's probably why they went there in the first place, but we can now really see the true color of siem people, i.e., they are cruel and evil. khmer buddhist monks have no evil intention when, they just do what buddhist monks supposed to do. well, siem shows us they are racist toward khmer, and then they wonder why khmer people retaliate at them for what goes around comes around, of course!

siem are cruel and racist toward khmer people. no wonder khmer hated siem once we know learn of their true color!

and siem claimed they have the same religion and same culture as khmer; well then, they shouldn't treat khmer like a second class citizen, etc, really! that's not how you win friends and allies with cambodia, you know!

Did you guys not get the part where they were out and about 4am in the morning collecting donations. Never heard a monk out that early. They just simply enforce their law for illegal immigrants. I don't see why you guys are exaggerating it so much. Such drama queens.

did you not see that in that part of thailand, people run their business 4 o'clock in the morning? why don't they too go to sleep at 4 o'clock in the morning, duh! your explanation makes so sense at all, really! the bottom line is siem are cruel people and phony people, you see! forget similarity with cambodia, they are just cruel and evil with khmer people, not to mention racist toward khmer people whom they stole lands and culture, etc from, you know! get educated for a change, ok! we know siem evil is always come up with lame excuses for their human rights abuse of khmer people, you know!

I didn't know Buddhism was a buisness as you pointed out. You must not know anything about Buddhism so I suggest you go to the nearest pagoda and have your head shaved and throw on a orange robe and learn something about Buddhism instead claiming you are. Your point makes no sense comparing what the monks did in the early morning as a business.

You need to tone done your nationalism rhetoric towards Thais or Vietnam. Understand that all your doing is creating more hatred for the younger generations which we would never live in peace but paranoia.
