March 18th of 1970 was unnecessary. It was too extreme. It creates a sense of uncertainty. It was actually creating a war, a chaos and loose society. Majority of Cambodian then were looking at it as King hater and not really anything significant for building the Nation.
Don't we all know that King sport his many beautiful wives and movies more than Angkor Wat? Neak Maneang Monique and now Queen Monineath was an outstanding one. King was simply a happy man. He also just won Preah Vihear from Thailand. Why shouldn't he be happy? That was in 1962 and March 18th 1970 wasn't long after that.
The two most unusaul things that would puzzle those many Cambodian was first his association with The Communist China. That clouded their judgement greatly. Secondly, Cambodian are not Vietnam lover either. His most beautiful wife was born in Saigon Vietnam. Althought she was the daughter of Cambodian woman who origionated from Battambang. Many of us failed to know that people in Battambang are mostly from Kampuchea Krom. They are most hard working and Bhuddist God's practicing on earth. What drove her mother out of this most religious family circle, was when she moved to Phnom Pehn with her husband then Major Oum or Sak Bei Oum . Queen Kossamak most favorite and trusted officer. There, she must learned that life was a lot more complicted than in Battambang and there were plenty of attractive men from France near the royal palace. So what would a young married woman do in that situation? She had to get divorce from her husband and ran away with a French man to Cambodia's Prey Nokor or Vietnam's Capital City Saigon ( My God! Vietnam is a hyjacker ). Who would have known then that the two beautiful little girls producing by these two great lover and one of them would become Queen of Cambodia today? and also took King's breath away in the 60's? The Happiest time usually pairs with the saddest one. That is exactly what happened to Sihanouk on March 18th of 1970. He probably wasn't really pay attention. Shit happens.

ការប្រយុទ្ធគ្នា ខ្លួនទល់នឹងខ្លួន នៅព្រៃទទឹង ឆ្នាំ១៩៧១ ក៏ជាមួយពួកកន្សែងស(ខ្មែរកម្ពុជាក្រោម)ដែរ។
