Good poem. However beware of the tricky Viet's ambitions of gulping Khmer land. The Chinese-Khmer are patriotic toward the kingdom than their ancestor land, China.
This is a generalization. It more likely applies to Khmer leaders. For the people of Cambodia in general, it's not fair to say that we are beggers. My family was a farmer. We worked so hard on the field.Two of my sisters later became successful business women. Maybe we can say some Khmers don't work hard. So Mr. Nhiek Kiri, don't think that you are a begger as well.
Please be impecable with your words and don't assume.

It's wrong for anyone to use the word 'impecable" " free from afult or blame" in any work of writing or speaking. Even Samdech Chuon Nath's literature analysises still contains word of fault or blame, and in Dhamma of the Buddha, too, won't satisfy all men. Come on! Only the one who has pure mind can be enlightened. Are you the one?

If the word "Khmer" is used in a sentence, it means any Khmer. The poem states repeatedly" KHmer this... Khmer that...".
Excerpts from the poem:
1. Since I was born, (I) see Khmer men and women were Chinese's slaves.
5. Khmer(s),unintelligent (no good ideas ?), can only become farmers.
7. Khmer races are slaves...
8. Khmer people are known as debtors ...
Based on the excerpts, I believe that the poem depicts all Khmers at certain parts of the writing.However, I can be wrong. I would like to hear from other people as well. So I can reflect on myself. Thanks.

Is it true or not that Khmers, right now, the whole nation become slaves of either Yuons or Chens. If your Khmer is that glorious, Cambodia would be like this. You are not a bit more Khmer than I am nor other Khmers are. If you such a Khmer who has patriotic conscience, why don't you come forward and bravely to save you Khmers out of being slaves of Yuons or Chens?

If Cambodia is such a dirt-poor country and Cambodian people are such dirt-poor people and it is only right that a good poem like this will help convince stupid Cambodian leaders to think in different ways besides having a slave mentality and have short term outlook for personal enrichment!
This poem said nothing new about the state of Cambodia and the condition of Cambodian people from the time of King Sihanouk to Pol Pot and to Hun Sen and the facts are there for all dirt poor Cambodian people to see!
Nice poem...but just a generalization and not fully true.
Khmer were once rulers of South East Asia...now the wave has shifted. There are smart wealthy Khmer too.
I am Khmer but great grand parents are Chinese...and I can tell you that I am 1000% Khmer in my heart.
Again, I think all Khmer should work harder and be educated for a better future...

Cambodians were genius and strong or we would never have existed as such nation but when time go bye we became stupid and week. why ?
Reasons:
1- Chinese became rich and bought political influence for their business purpose- corruption and seldfishness began to sprout causing social chaos.
2- Viet political virus also infiltrated into Cambodia.
Now we are chaotic. Some love Viet and Sen, but hate Khmer rouge. Some love Viet and Sen but hate sihanouk. Some hate old Khme rouge but love new khmer rouge. Some in same family but have different people to hate and to support.

Ther is no word exprssing hate in the poem!It's a generalization កាធ្វើឱភាសកម្ម of some Khmer characters, not all.

that is what i said from the beginning--- the generalization. tha's all. why some of you guys are fighting and cursing? i don't understand it. i wrote the feedback from the beginning because the poet indicates that
khmer races are slaves and i wanted him not generalize our khmer people. i'm not talking youns and chinese.
I like this poem, I consider that it is coinciding my thinking on the politic of China hacia Cambodia.
So, the majority of the posters agree that we Khmers are slaves, illiterate and short minded. If that's the case, it implies to all Khmers-- you, me, all the posters, the author of this poem and all the leaders.So I agre

I do agree with the poem composer.
After the Sweet Cucumber dynasty usurped the throne from Voraman dynasty, the Cambodian empire tarted to decline ever since, because the STUPIDITY OF SWEET CUCUMBERS' DESCENDANTS who always proclaimed themseves as Pouch Neak Mean Bon, and never learn to PROTECT the Khmer Empire as Voraman had done, plus never renovate or maintain the Irrigation System of Angkor Capital.
Khmer people ever since waited, waited for hundreds of years for the incarnation of a Sacred Man
( Preah Bat Thormoeuk) to save them, but they had never learned HOW TO HELP THEMSELVES FIRST, before Gods or Angels come to help them.
Mainly the Kings and stupid leaders intentionally leaves their own subjects into a deep ignorance for easy to control them.
So Ah Ho Chi Minh had known this
stupidity of KHmer leaders.
Now Hanoi had a full control of Cambodia, and proceed to finally the Indochina Federation.
