A meeting took place on Wednesday 04 June between representatives of the ministry of Economy, and local representatives of the gasoline distribution companies: Caltex, Total, Tela and Sokimex. The reason for the meeting was the price increase of gasoline and goods. “The goal of this meeting was to round up the exact reasons behind the inflation. We must know if the price increase is conducted properly or not,” Chea Peng Cheang, state secretary at the ministry of Economy, declared. The rate of inflation climbed up to 18.7% in January 2008. Since the beginning of the year, the price of goods kept on increasing, in particular the price of foods. Faced with this inflation, the government claimed that it took measures, but for now, the results are few and far in between.

Yes, Ah Spam Rainxy should go to Zimbabwe to give them a hand. He's useless here because no one wants to walk backward to year-zero just to reach Zimbabwe and get stuck there for eternity.

People should be aware and more realistic that "Inflation" is a global trend not a local affair.

Price of crude is on the increase and it would not be too long before it will hit the 200US$/barrel.

What the government should do is to look into whether the service stations are not ripping off consumers but increase their price unnessary.

On the other hand, whether the taxes and excises on the imported fuel shall be reduced so the stations can pass it on to consumer.

Dear 10:58 AM
No, we shouldn't. Just wait until SR can get inot power as Mr. Eng Chhay Eang wants to abolish 100% Tax and excise on imported fuel

Hey, if you cut tax on gas, you'll have to raise it in real estate or property. And that is unfair because not all of the owner use gas. Furthermore, the real estate owners aren't going to let your tax them without a good fight.

Don't listen to Ah Zimbabwean Spam Rainxy's propaganda. He doesn't know what he's talking about most of the time. How can he, when his cabinet is full of cyclo drivers with fake westerner degree.
